Has anyone played it and if so, what do you think of it?

I've only started about a week ago, and while there isn't a lot to do, it's still kind of fun.

Isn't it like a big chat program or something?

Sort of. I wish that there would be objectives (similar to mmorpg) but it's just fun flying around, exploring the areas and chatting. So you can't really do much, but ... it's just a nice environment to be in when you have absolutely nothing to do.

Can you buy houses and so on?

Yep. Cars, houses, islands and etc.
