Anyone playing? I'm only about 4 hours in, but I feel the urge to play already. Making my person was fun, I think I could do that all day. It's such a pretty game.

Beat it awhile ago, and it's well worth the amount of hours you'll sink into it. I didn't like it as much as Morrowind, if only because there was less fantasy & Elderscrolls feeling. But it's still pretty close, especially with the amount of improvements. The characters feel alive more so than any other game I've played.
What race did you chose?

Jeez I didnt see the light of day for a month thanks to that game. I never did finish the Fighters guild missions because it was the same thing go in a dungeon and fight a bunch of things over and over again. The main story was good though. Also I have yet to download the Expansion whith a new story about the knight or something but I heard it was real good.

Seriously I love this game! Craig and I played it all the time this last visit. I like that you can download lots of clothes. I'm such a girl :( I'm just so sad because neither of my computers here are good enough to play it :'(
We made a character that looked like me and completely maxed out her abilities and went on killing sprees. Good dates.

It is ok. The main campaign story is awful of course. There are no characters. No dialogue. It is more like a sandbox action game than a roleplaying game. Great tech demo.

It's fun! I'm a thief and a badass magician. And I can kill three minotaurs with my bare hands!

Yeah, the main quest(s) was pretty bad. Still fun to do, but it lacked a gripping plot. Having to shut those Oblivion gates got old as well, considering how similar each gate was.
Some of the characters, in my opinion, were great... but some were a bit dull. I felt that the Mage's Guild wasn't quite as interesting as in Morrowind, but seeing the University was a nice twist. The best was the assassin guild. So much fun, and pretty creative.

The coolest character (Patrick Stewart) died right at the beginning. :(

I think by characters I meant the main quest people. I didn't like joffre etc.
I downloaded Knights of the Nine, but I dunno how to activate the quest. Seems like it'd automagically come up when i start a game. Maybe I installed it wrongly.

I could never take Joffre seriously.. I mean, the man's name is Joffre.

Jauffre.
I should know though, I've been playing the game near enough non-stop since I got it...christ it's good. Main story isn't too much to shout about (Sean Bean was rather uninspired to say the least, and Oblivion Gates aren't much compared to the fun of forts, caves and ruins), but it doesn't really matter when there's all sorts of murders to commit in the Dark Brotherhood and tons of stuff to flog in the Thieves' Guild (If only I could set up something like...I don't know, "Cyrodil Independent Traders" out the back of a three-legged horse in order to flog all the hooky items I've accumulated). Brilliant game.

Ive recently started playing this game on xbox 360. Im seriously impressed with the graphics and gameplay. I love just going into the forest to collect herbs for potions/poisons, while fighting the odd wolf, imp, rat and so forth. My character is a wood elf, made a custom class called Ranger. Using my bow while doing sneak attacks is just wicked cool.

Guys, I'm terrified of playing RPGs because I'm afraid I will lose my life to them. The fact that this game is so well reviewed and it's on the 360 really makes me want to try it, but I'm scared!

i'm new to this game board.. saw the oblivion thread & had to comment..
i'm doing this in reverse..
just finally put oblivion on the shelf until more content becomes available..
i played the entire game as a vampire after being bitten in the town of hackdirt early on.. loved it.. lived it.. for months and months and months!
very addictive and immersive game.. i bought all the extra content, smuggler's cove, frostcrag spire, deepscorn, knights of the 9..
i finally stopped at about level 40.. for now..
and now i'm going back to play morrowind as a khajit!
(started it a long time ago but never continued..)
these are definitely the best, most escapist games to date..
and i'm an old schooler from the old nes days so i can talk..
i've been hooked ever since shadowgate and ff1..

great game...I originally played as a high elf or something.
Then I created a big fucking Nord that looked like me...just a big fucking mindless knight that tore shit up with axes.

I don't know why I haven't posted on this yet. That game consumed my free time for probably like three months solid and... that's probably why I wasn't online posting about it.
