I'm curious to see what games other Blamovians have bought, and what they think of them. I figure we can add to this thread as we go along, especially considering the weekly releases.
So far, I only have two games.
Game: Ice Hockey (NES)
Recommend: Yes, for people who already love it. Others might want to pass.
Game: Gunstar Hero (Genesis)
Recommend: Definitely. I only tried this thanks to IGN's rave review of it, and it's well worth the money. Think Contra meets Mega Man meets Kung Fu. Best action shooter I've ever played. Never even heard of it before.

BTW, the one thing I don't like is how Nintendo is releasing the worst versions of a series, probably knowing that they can eventually release the better version latter. Street Fighter II, for example, is the first version, and it doesn't contain anything the later versions don't already have. I'm debating whether to even bother.
Of course, the whole points system thing sucks too. That's capitalism, I guess. It does give you an excuse to buy more points though.

SFII seems like a bust, to me. The reviews I've seen do not recommend it.
So far I have Sonic, Super Mario Brothers, Super mario 64, and F-Zero.
Sonic - Recommended. Easy to just pick up and play for fun.
SMB - Recommended. It's a classic for a reason.
F-Zero - If you liked it back in the day, look into it. Other than that, the graphics are terrible, and there's not much else to it.
SM64 - I never had it on the 64, so I downloaded for the Wii. I have been disappointed so far. The graphics are terrible, the controls aren't that great, and the gameplay is just tough for me to get into. However, if you liked it back in the day, go for it. I wish I could get my 10$ back, though.
I'm thinking about getting Super Castlevania. I'm a sucker for the series, but have never played that one. Any reviews?

Well, it's too bad I happened to read your post just after purchasing Street Fighter. It was kind of an impulse thing. I'm sure I'll still enjoy it, but I really want the newer version.
I also picked up Bomberman for the Tubrographics 16. Single player seems ok, but I can't wait to get 5 player Bomberman. Worth $6.
SMB64 is an awesome game, but I can see being bored with it if you have never played it. It was one of the first games to really pull off the true 3-d style, and do it well.
I recall playing Castlevania IV, and I think I liked it. Try an emulator version first and see what you think. Really though, emulators kind of suck compared to the Virtual Console.
Nintendo needs to come out with Earthbound for the SNES... NOW!

I disagree, hugely.
Emulator + pts:
Free.
Massive library of games.
Graphics can be improved.
Higher resolutions.

I just got
Super Mario
Mario Brothers
Zelda I
Toejam and Earl
Golden Axe
Donkey Kong
Donkey Kong Country
Ristar
Bomberman 93
I have to agree it's nicer to play them on a virtual console then on an emulater...but I spent 60 euro already on those cards, I could have bought a normal wii game...The should give you a free download with every wii game you purchase.

I bet I'm not the only person out there who could hum the Mario 1 theme tune from memory, after not hearing it for 10/11 years. not so sure on the other levels, but definitely level 1.

I agree with the first two. But the graphics are more likely to be improved on the virtual console, and higher resolutions is a bit of a wash, considering that there is generally a certain limit to which higher resolution has no effect on older games. One thing you left out is the ability to save & load in-game states. Big plus on the emulator side.
On the positive side of the virtual console, I'd say the controls are generally much more fluid, but if you have a nice setup on a PC, that might also be a wash. Also, the possibility of online multiplayer is huge. I realize some emulators have that, but I've never used one which allowed for anything but person to person matches.
Both have their advantages.
The should give you a free download with every wii game you purchase.
I believe they're going to do things like that. I don't really know the details though.

games i have:
castlevania 4: dont buy, gameplay isnt great, worst castlevania music in the series, boring.
street fighter 2: buy, it's a classic..always fun with a friend and even a comp! only problem is that it tends to lag a bit.
sonic: unsure, when i first go it i was so excited, played it for a while. now i dont touch it anymore. the first levels in sonic are fun cuz you're always moving, jumping over obstacles while running...later on the game feels very platformerish. where you have to push things to advance, wait till the thing drops down so you can jump. pretty boring/frustrating/and hard
golden axe: buy: i love the cheesy music, the cheesy death screams. + the game rules, a nice beat em up game.
gunstar heroes: buy, to fully experience the game at its best, play it when you're high. it will give you a seizure.
toejam and earl: buy, it's a pretty addicting game. a very relaxed and funny game.
super mario bros: buy, it's a classic
zelda: buy, if you havent played it before.
wario's woods: don't buy, i just cant get into it.
bomberman '93: buy, 5 player action
ok i got lazy at the end haha
