Straight off the bat, do not turn this into a console debate.
I finally can afford to dive into the next generation, but the Wii is just completely unavailable. I've called every place that could have it (well, a reasonable amount), and not only do they not have them, they don't know when they are getting them in.
There are a few tracker sites, but only one relies on actual information to give it's status (http://www.ps3seeker.com/wii/). All the others just check immediate inventory. Considering how quickly it sells out, it's pretty useless. There is also some service which e-mail/AIMs you immediately when something is available, but it's $6 & change.
So be my street team & give out CDs which will eventually get thrown in the garbage.

My husband has a site that tells him when one is available in our area! Ha ha ha, he said he had one in his cart (online) but it was the $400.00 set with an extra controller and other stuff, but he backed out of the deal. I still ask about them in stores and feel like a loser.

Well, you can disreguard this, because I manged to snag 2 of them today! I'm such a Nintendofanboy that I decided to buy two to support the company.
Ok, of course, my friend is going to buy it from me. I haven't actually spoken to him, but I asked him if he'd be interested in camping out early some time, and he said yes. I can only presume he's ready to buy. If not, there's always E-Bay.
I checked out a couple of those websites, and it said Target had one in stock, but it was 8 days old & wrong. Fortunately, Wal-Mart had a bunch in. Someone on Amazon.com mentioned that Wal-Mart in NY had received some, so I made some calls, and after a half-hour trip, I bought them.

This is because it is a novelty thing with a good design, much like an Ipod, I don't know why people are buying them so early when there is only one good game out (Zelda).
I beat the crap out of Philippe at new years in the little boxing flash game or whatever it is.

As I keep saying, it is bloody stupid to buy a console in the first year. Those consoles are always bugged and need replacing as well as the fact the games are generally shit. The price is only going to go down too. The Wii needs a good start due to the novelty, which it has got to a certain degree, so it has an inkling of a chance to do ok. As already mentioned on here, it does attract part-timers, which makes a bit up for offering nothing to hardcore gamers.

Dude, I'm kidding.
I'm sure you & Craig are having a discussion when Craig was responding to Peter. Not that I actually mind Craig's post (or yours)... The thread has already served it's purpose, so...

My texan friend is having to send his Wii back because of a faulty fan or something. His kids love it, and I can understand why.
