anyone have any new year's resolutions for 2007?

i'm not big on these things, but i find myself making a list, just because 2006 was absolute shit and i want to avoid another shit year.

1. lose the 10 college pounds i gained
2. be nicer to people
3. work harder in school/get a job
4. don't make any more boy mistakes...ha i wonder how long this will last
5. watch all the old horror films i can get my hands on
6. become content with being single again
7. travel to france/england in the summer

i think that's it.

1. Be waaaaaay more productive with films/cartoons. I kind of stopped for about a year after I moved here, and we had this crazy landlord who would harrass me whenever I had spare time, but now I feel much more settled and at home, and I'm feeling super prolific.

2. Get slightly fitter. I have a bit of a belly going on, but it's probably something I could just walk off if I could be arsed.

3. Get a swankier job. It's almost media hirin' season again, and I am seriously so sick of working retail, even though I like all the people I was working with. But I can't even legally work right now, so I have no idea how that will pan out.

4. Start driving again. But that ties in with #3. I needs to get paid.

Here is my ideal ride, but I am willing to settle for much less...

1. Go veggie for January, then if it's not proving too difficult I'll take it up full time.
2. Stop biting fingernails. Please.
3. Get my act in gear re: uni + that girl I like.

- Continue to eat reasonably healthy (salad a day, lotsa water, etc)
- Spend more than 5 hours on each of my cartography projects this upcoming semester.... no more academic laziness!

I make mine in November, so I've forgotten them now. "be tidier" is always on there, and "stop smoking". Eh.

These aren't really resolutions as such just things that I would like to do to make the on coming new year better:

- Get my arse into gear re: university
- Find a job that will keep me ticking over until uni (and possibly keep when studying)
- Move
- Make more effort with certain people (I became quite slack with a few people during and after Oxjam and need to make amends with someone else)
- Not to give a shit regarding some people and situations
- Hannah
- Try and be more positive
- Realise more that it’s the people I love that make life worth living, nothing else matters.

New years resolutions are shit. They are just lists of people's perceived faults. I don't know anyone who has held to a new year's resolution. Heap of shit and excuses to feel sorry for oneself.

Personally, I don't think there's anything wrong with having resolutions but I think it's a shame that most people have to use a new year as an excuse for making changes in their lives.

it's not really an excuse, so much as a more tangible "new beginning" and whatnot.

like for me, as i said, 2006 was just shit, from literally the first day of january on. and i know that there are things i can do that will make me happier, and it just seems right to start it all at the same time that things went horrible last year.

and craig, what's wrong with people listing their faults? it's better to realise them and whatnot than to just be some schmuck who never changes. i know there will be some that i get lazy about, but the more important ones i fully intend to see through.

I approve of this message.

Mine -- just a few so far, but maybe there'll be more:

1. Be more outgoing, more willing to talk to people in a conversational situation. Don't clam up like I always do.

2. Keep it going with being vegetarian, try to get better at it (less pizza), aim towards vegan

3. Less coffee. Calmer nerves.

4. Stop being complacent about being single, try to get a date for once. Clean up my appearance to support this (moth-eaten hoodie demoted to pyjamas)

1. Eat healthy and eat enough; don't lose more than maybe 5 pounds max.
2. Do more situps so I have awesome oblique muscles
3. Read more
4. Draw more/learn how to paint
5. Stop hating myself so much

Let 2007 be better than 2006!
