anyone out there found the perfect foundation yet? my skin isnt that bad but its prone to redness and junk. i just want a good foundation that makes your skin look airbrushed almost and doesnt get to oily and doesnt come off during the day. is that so much to ask!
i wanna try that spray foundation that chick on what not to wear always puts on everyone but i dont know where to get that crap. i hate going to fancy make up places and i havent noticed much difference in high end make up anyway. i've tried mac stuff and dior stuff and i was pretty on the fence with both.
right now i use maybelline matte mousse or whatev and its pretty good but it looks really great for about 2 hours and then starts to get retarded and rub off. sigh. help.

Right now I'm using Mavalia Fluid Foundation. I wish I could afford Lola, but it's $30. :\ I have a travel size thing of it but I'm almost out. I don't wear much makeup but I need something to cover up my scary nose pores. Maybe I should just look into a good concealer/spackle.

My cousin gave me this shit in an unmarked container. one of her customers gave it to her with a bunch of stuff for xmas. all she knows is that its $60 a bottle, and is only available online. Its heavenly! I must know what it is!
Before that i was just using neutragena stuff.

i wear cover girl ultimate finish and i love it! it starts out as a like. um.. liquid sort of? but then it ends up being more like powder! and it doesn't make my skin break out and it lasts pretty well. it's pretty cheap too. i've been wearing it for like 4 years now. every time i try something different i end up going back to it.

I' m always afraid of getting dry face flakes! my face is so dry in the winter. i pour 12 lbs of face lotion on it and in 5 minutes its dry again. Whats a good one, that gives all day moisture!?

Being back in ny during the summer did wonders for my skin. My face suffered for years in the desert. Now that its winter though, ugh! Back to square one. I've tried everything! The closest I came to something good was some clinique stuff, but even that only lasts a few hours at most.

I've got horribly dry skin, nothing works unless it's some heavy greasy crap that shines like glass. poo poo.

i'm absoltuely 100% loyal to mac foundations/concealer/powder. it is the ONLY line i can match my skin to, and i've definitely tried just about everything. my skin is very fair with pink undetones, so everything else ends up looking yellow on me. in the winter i wear NW15, in the summer NW20. right now i'm using Select SPF foundation, Select Cover-Up, and Select Sheer Powder, all in NW15.
megan, mac just started carrying a spray foundation. i know dior has one too.

I use Neutrogena "clean skin" foundation I think. It works well. Then I have some loose translucent powder I bought from a shop here last summer. I accidently spilled a bunch in Craig's room when I was unpacking. Whoops.

okay so
my search for the perfect foundation went on for yeeeaaars
and then i discovered smashbox.
it's PERFECT. apply it with a brush so too much doesn't go on, it will last all day, doesn't get ridiculously shiny, they have a really good range of shades, etc.

naj do you use photofinish?!?! please tell me you do.
in fact, it should be included in the discussion- photofinish by smashbox is AMAZING. it's a clear (or tinted, for correction) gel foundation primer. it kind of seals in your skin so the foundation doesn't sink into your pores and get all absorbed, and makes it stick foreverrrr. it's seriously the best thing ever. i use the green tinted one to neutralize redness (no it does not make your skin look green).

no no...photofinish isn't a foundation, it's a foundation primer.

it's really the best thing ever. heads up, it's expensive, but you only need a drop per use so it lasts forever. buy the little trial size if they have it, it costs less and will still last long.

When i run out i'll probably splurge and get Bare Minerals.

i love bare minerals, but my problem with it is they sometimes dry out my skin, being all powder, and it's ground very fine so it's veeeeeery messy. it gets everywhere. if there was a way it could be neater (like the powder being pressed), i'd use it.

i don't use the primer, meghan.
the smashbox foundation is about $35, but it lasts forever.

honestly, that half ounce will last months. it is an ouch, i realize, but since i don't have great skin it's a worthwhile investment for me. if my skin didn't need much help i wouldn't bother.

Well, I mean, if it lasts for months it's worth it, but I have a history of buying stuff that's supposed to be great but never works well for me. I have a one-time sample of Philosophy The Present which apparently is similar, but I want to wait and save it for a special occasion. :-o
