Facials, yay or nay?

Ennyways I got a set of facials and back treatments from my sis for my upcoming wedding, and I went yesterday for the third time. OMG it was like torture this time because it's PMS time and my skin was so sensitive. :cry: But it feels oh so smooth & soft today, hooray. I'm thinking about trying to cram in more but don't know the ropes.

Has anyone gone regularly? More than once a month for any length of time? *shrug*

i used to get facials relatively often and it was great. It can be painful but it's worth it :O I actually kinda like the pain : / That reminds me that I have to make an appointment for one in the next couple weeks.

I get them for blackheads because that's my problem, and they are great for that. But I would be apprehensive to trust most others to work on my face, to be honest. Luckily, my lady is good and her place is nice and elegant, b/c that means a whole lot D:

i always get busted for picking at my face though. Everytime i go for a facial she says, "HAVE YOU BEEN PICKING AT YOUR FACE?? I CAN TELL" and she gives me an electric shock. I LOVE picking at my face though, i just simply love it. And i'm responsible with it, meaning i'm not using just nails and scraping everywhere and such! Jeeze, give me my freedom.

when i go, she looks at my face and asks me questions, maybe what i'm eating and what i'm using to cleanse my face. Then she puts really nice face products on and cooling pads for my eyes and i lie down and have my face steamed for a long time. Then she comes back in and goes at my face for a while with her hands, and then if there's particularly crappy things going on with my face she uses this kinda needle prodder thing. Then she uses this machine and zaps my face with it. It's like this electric zaps and it hurtsss but i like it.

Then she puts more product on my face and a little massage maybe, if she's feeling nice. Sometimes she isn't that nice though : /

Just don't go to a jerk and don't go to some cheap chinese nail salon place and you'll probably be fine!

Yah, don't worry. I let my eyebrows get out of control and just kinda forgot and guess what---she waxed them for free just to be nice. Then yesterday (because my lady is super and when you're almost done/soaking under the last thing she rubs your feet/legs and hands/arms with lotion) I was like SHIT because I also let my leg hair grow out like omg gross length and I felt so icky I had to say something when she took my socks off. She was nice though and was like, "please, that doesn't even faze me".

If the person you book is nice to you when she meets you, and the place is clean, you're good to go. I was scared my first time, too, so I told her I liked to know everything she was doing. She talked me through the whole process and it was great. :yes:

Oh, and I love love love love LOVE to pick. :darn:

when i worked in a candle store, we had these tiny vats full of 130 degree wax and i used to stick my hands in them : )

PVA glue is super fun too, but has no basis in cosmetology (?). that I know of.

salt water is so good for your skin though, nice one "innit"!

after that I mix flour with water and apply it to my face, then leave it on for 10 mins.

i steam my face! 2-3 times a week. 'cept i wet my face then rub a handful of salt onto it before steaming. it feels pretty good.

i have glycolic peels at my dermo every month or two. it's the only, ONLY thing that's gotten my skin under control. it's a miracle. regular facials feel good though.
