A boring, predictable mauling.
Australia to win 3-1, with England winning the 4th or 5th test - when it doesn't matter. Flintoff is a poor choice for captain, and he'll have a poor series.
GO AUSSIE GO!
I wonder who'll get picked for Australia's 4th bowler. Also, I'm not sold on Shane Watson.

I like Watson, however, along with Martyn, he might be missing the first test due to injury.

OK, I am all set for losing sleep tonight.
I will leave the TV on, and try to watch and sleep at the same time.

Clark is in instead of Watson.
Aus 3/217. Could make 500 easily.

Looks like a draw all the way. Barring a calamitous England collapse, which I would not put past them, but it would be unforgivable on a perfect, flat wicket.
Hard to see a result coming.
Agreed that this wicket is far too nice. Bit of an anticlimax really. And this is the only test I'll be in Aus to see coverage for. :(

Indeed. Even as I posted that, I thought I had rather given them the proverbial kiss of death. An Aussie win through default really. They totally deserved it without having to even try. I cant say they played well, but then, they didnt have to and still mauled England.
Strangley, I am actually more postive for England's chances now then before this test. The failure to enforce the follow-on through nothing more than bitterness (a really dumb decision) can only give England confidence to know that Ponting is still hurt and it is letting it affect him, and Warnes uncharacteristic chuck at KP shows that there are big Aussie wounds and weaknesses that they are showing without provocation.
Are England good or organised enough to come back and take advantage of that? Almost certainly, no. A shame really, otherwise we could have had another classic series.
Oh that bit where Warne threw the ball at KP and KP batted it away and gave it right back to him?
There's certainly some Aussie wounds but England don't look to have the fight. Harmison was really disappointing, and I still don't understand why they played Giles over Panesar?

Harmison has been shit for ages. He just doenst have it mentally. As for Giles, he can hold a bat better. Simple as. Of course, Monty is the better bowler, but as Boycott said, a finger-spinner wont win you the game at the Gabba.
This Adelaide Oval pitch needs a redoing. Unless the captains are feeling sporting, looks like a draw.
...lol, or if England meltdown.
I cant believe England lost the 2nd test

Never underestimate the awesome power of English inconsistency.
3rd test is finally living up a bit to the billing. At the WACA too, who woulda thunk it? FINALLY, English selection made some sense. Oh let's play effin Giles i/o Panesar cos he can bat at English county level while Panesar is only able to beat Indians and Pakistanis with his spin. And JAnderson has been hit 'n' miss his entire career (usually miss vs Australia).
Credit was due to the English when they offed Butcher, Ramprakash, Crawley (ugh!) et al. to bring in the real fighters like Collingwood, Pietersen, Strauss but they seemed to regress a bit for a few of this tour's fringe selections.

Hopefully England can make a game out of the 3rd test, although the way Clark was bowling late last night, it won't be easy.
Anyway, it was good to see the back of Giles, and Monty have a go.
Oh well. So much for the Ashes being a contest.

I'm predicting all over by tea today, but won't be surprised if it's around lunch.

I'm rather surprised at how much England dominated large portions of the games. Less so regarding how they threw it away. At no point were the Aussies particularly special, they just didnt fuck up on a regular basis like their opponents.
The first two tests had awful pitches in which it should have been pretty much impossible to get a result. In the third, England got the claws in early but (yawn) pissed it away again. A series win by default really, but totally deserved.
