Did all her efforts do more for women's rights or fashion?

Did she accomplish any lasting effect on society that will last 100 years?

Do you find her fascinating or dull?

What do you think about Madonna?

"Just Like a Prayer" is one of the best songs, ever. And "Borderline," and "Cherish," and "Papa Don't Preach." And "Material Girl."

ugh i cringe everytime i hear "like a prayer." When I played field hockey, every single time we had game, and in every season, we had to listen to that song and sing.

I absolutely, absolutely ADORE "Borderline," although the weirdest thing has been happening to me lately w/ that song. About a month ago I heard it on the radio and there was this bit of the song, kind of like a bridge that I had never in all my years of "Borderline" listening had heard before. I was confused but ultimately forgot about. Then at work they played "Borderline" and i heard the bridge-thing again, as well as loads of new harmonies i never knew existed within that song! What the crap is that about?

Also, about 3 months ago I found a new love for "Vogue." I never really thought twice about that song and then something clicked and I realized that I wish that song was my life and now it's one of my absolute favorites.

I also love "Cherish." And "Say Goodbye." "Lucky Star." fucking "Crazy for you"!1 Wow i guess i could go on.

That doesn't mean i necessarily like the woman, because i don't so much care for her. I think she certainly has accomplished a lasting effect on society, as she was pretty much beyond any other female pop star in terms of aggressive sexuality and innovation, which has influenced at least people involved in media, maybe not so much society as a whole. But who knows, maybe she influenced women to explore their sexuality more and be more dominant, I can't be sure b/c i don't know!

I think she's impressive anyhow with what she's done with her career and what she's achieved, although she's been boring for ages now. I liked her "Hung Up" single and video but haven't heard anything else from that album so that was bit of a lost cause.

A media whore to the extreme.

A very intelligent women who is completely bitter over her total lack of any discernable talent. A great business mind, but nothing artistic, and this wrangles with her so.

Her constant infatuation with fame and recognition belies the childish nature she has. Always considering it more important to cause controversy then do anything substantial. The fact it succeeds shows how stupid humanity really is.

I think lately her failures have outweighed her successes in the controversial respect.

I remember liking Madonna's boobs in the "Like a Prayer" video when I was younger. I remember when a Brazilian foreign exchange student at my high school got the Madonna "Sex" book. I remember the first time I saw the "Ray of Light" video and Mad's nips were poking through her wife-beater tank top. So I guess what I'm saying is that I'll remember her boobs.

I like "like a prayer" and a few others. I always wanted to see the Sex book, but that was when I was 12 and didn't have access to porn like I have now. :D

La Isla Bonita is my fucking theme song. Not really, but I like it a lot.

I heard a rumor that "Just Like A Prayer" is about a blowjob. I can see it.

I have to say I like a lot of her newer stuff...Swim, Frozen and Hung up are some pretty good ones.

But the bottom line is I love her music but I don't like her as a person

Really? People still wont shut up about her here, and as soon as they do, she just says something dumb to get the spotlight again.

I think I just missed the age group or culture/era where she was really popular here and a bit cooler in her youth so never really got into her. I find her boring in the extreme at the moment, and feel like in her personal life she must be little more than a total neurotic obsessed with bodily discipline and trying to look twenty again.
