question: does PMS make you psychotic?

I think it might make me so. I've been a wreck all day, and slept away most of it---it doesn't help that the fiance was being a Class A No. 1 Asshat since yesterday (pfft since I've known him really).

I was torn between creating the "What we F*CK*NG HATE about men" thread and the PMS one...since they're interrelated I figured let's just have it out here.

Any tips for not going off the deep end when PMSing? :darn:

Yes, incredibly. I keep busy, talk it out, and consume alcohol.

but if in doubt, drink so much that you pass out and then the pms usually gives way to a hangover.

I have to ask the simple question...if he's been an asshat since you've known him, why have you kept with him?

Also, not psychotic. But very tired and headachy, I sleep all week. It really gets in the way of my studies so I try and skip whenever possible now.

Yeah, I just cry at everything. Puppies, babies, old people, anything sets me off for a couple of days. Also I get extra special giant breasts!

Historically alcohol has made the psychoPMS much, much worse for me. I'm guessing maybe more sleep is the answer.

i had the worst pms of my life with this period. it didnt help that everyone was a total asshole this week for some reason but holy crap i was a mess. i would almost cry at everything and i would yell at people for tiny things and i was a total dickwad to mark. then i cried for about two minutes and i was okay.

That's about how I'm feeling, I've been unstoppably crying at things I can normally at least hold it together for...like soaps. :darn:

And I take it back about the total asshat the whole time thing in my first post...we just have not seen much of each other due to different schedules, and we've got some regular problems that get amplified when we're totally isolated from one another too long...situation came to a head. Right when I ran out of meds :cry: Thank god I can hit the pharmacy tomorrow. He's really quite a nice one, look---he even takes pseudo-emo silly fun photos with me:

As for the boobs: mine can't get much bigger even with PMS (yeah yeah I guess they could but seriously :eek: they're large) but they get almost hard and so hurty. :cry:

I guess I'd still rather deal, though, than have to cope with a vulnerable nutsack and spontaneous erections. :yes:

go on prescription drugs? haha. srsly, there's a disorder called pre-menstrual dysphoric disorder; it can be treated with antidepressants.

i used to have REALLY bad pms, probably could've even been diagnosed as PMDD, but i've been on ssri's for a while now for clinical depression and pms has seemingly gone away...

I've been on an ssnri for quite a while; still get PMS. Though the addition of lithium has curbed the random acts of violence. :O
