purebred dogs are a pain. my dog reggie is purebred (not that he has like special bloodlines or anything) and he has an unbelievable amount of health problems from being inbred. :( i love him but i can't help but feel like some day soon he's just gonna die. get mutts u guys. cody has never had a health problem in his life!

billy, on the other hand, a mutt, ate a pound of chocolate and we didn't even have to take him to the vet AND he's still alive today! now THAT'S healthy!

Pitbull puppies are the adorable-est things! :D I swear they must be the most popular dogs in this area because I see them EVERYWHERE and they are always in the shelters waiting to be adopted :( I know a lot of places have banned them or are trying to ban them. Even though its really the negligent owners that lead to a lot of them having aggression and attack tendencies!!

My friend has a male pit named Keenan and he's just the best-behaved dog ever...can walk off-leash and won't run away, very tolerant, and Moro is in love with this damn dog...seriously its ridiculous...as soon as she sees him, she's wriggling all over and flopping over on her back and licking him in the face, while he just sits there with this look on his face like "someone please get this lovesick child OFF me!"

and that little black pug is the cutest thing ever! there is nothing sweeter on this earth than puppies.

my old dog is a shetland sheepdog, purebred, never had any problems cept allergic to fleas, hes 12 and sleeps all the time now.

and i just got my pomeranian pup in august, and hes the funniest cutest sweetest thing ive ever seen. he has no health probs, but he barks like a motherfucker and has quite the humping problem for a 4 month old little baby, but i can fix that in december thank god... he looks like a little fox.

awww australian shepards are so cute (I think that's one in the pic right?) one of my friends got an aussie shep pup a few weeks ago, she named it "J" because it has a black marking on its back in the shape of a lower-case j :D

I think Chows are the only dogs that make me kinda nervous, but that's probably because every Chow I've ever met was a growley bitey snarly asshole. Me and Moro walk by this one house on our way to the park almost every day, and they have two Chows in the yard behind a fence, and they always snarl and growl at her like they wanna rip her apart... and she isn't phased in the least, she's always trying to make friends with dogs regardless of how mean they are to her. This one time we went past a house with a chihuahua running loose....the chihuahua came up to her and growled, and Moro backed down! it was pretty funny to see a wolf getting owned by a freakin' barking gerbil :lol:

I love big dogs... we thought about getting a st. bernard pup before we got Midas, but they cost a lot. they sure are cute though!

My fluffy things are indeed awesome, and though they are poodles and don't shed, they do rack up quite a stinkbomb. And their breaths...well, let's just say I found the WMDs and they weren't in Iraq. :oh:

I use tear-free puppy shampoo for their baths since they're little bitches about it and their skin is quite fine...I also feed them a lamb- or chicken-rice food, which has no corn in it. Corn is BAD for teh doggy sensitive skin. The rice-based ones are bettah, esp. for poodles.

I give them Greenies but they still have ass-breath from hell. Little dogs are notoriously foul mouthed, sez my vet. But it's worth it:

ohh i gave my pup greenies when i first got him, he LOVED them and they made his breath minty and nice. i've been meaning to get more :D
i was thinking, wow, my dogs will eat anything but celery, they smell it and have no interest in it cause well its really just water so they dont care, and i thought it was cute that yours would enjoy veggies, but that makes a lot more sense now!

I agree, pitbulls are absolute sweethearts, it's the bad owners who neglect and abuse them that turn them into dangerous animals, but any dog has the potential to attack... just like any dog, pitbulls need love and training. There are SO many pitbulls who end up in shelters around here, I hope you find a sweet puppy Stef :) that one you posted is just adorable!!

they banned pit bulls here in ontario a couple years ago and now theres a big underground for them. seems so strange to have to sell a dog the way you sell drugs.

American Pitbulls are banned in Britain, well the breeding of them is. Along with about 3 other breeds of fighting dogs.

If I wanted something for protection I'd get a dog that fucks humans up like a rottweiler/dobermann/alsation (all german. coincidence?), because as long as you can stand your ground and take a pitbulls lockjaw to your leg/arm, you can break it's neck/gouge its eyes out etc and you're home free,if a little battered. whereas you'd have no chance against a 10stone rottweiler.

people who live alone and have a dog, do you feel guilty that he/she is alone so much when youre at work? ive been working every single day lately and my dog cries whenever i leave... so i decided to let my parents (who are obsessed with him and have my old dog who he likes to play with) watch mine for a while until im not working every day. but i hate not having him around... when i lived with ppl it wasnt so bad but living alone he seems so abandoned whenever i leave :cry:
