View Full Version : Who has it worse?

my vote totally goes to girls.
PMS, periods (and everything that comes with one), boobs, being emotional, having to look cute all the time.. i think the only reason i think guys have it worse is because there are times when they're not able to get sex w/o paying for it.

women dont even have to get educated, get a job etc if they dont want to. they can get married, get pregnant and sponge off a husband for the rest of their days and no one will think any less of them. they dont even have to be particularly fit to get in that situation! whereas the market for sugar-mommas is significantly more elite.
Hi There, Am Pam

Girls definitely have it worse. Fraser is right about the women who have the option of getting a free ride, but that's a fairly recent thing (not to mention that it's changed). There are things that guys have to deal with though, namely projecting a "strong" image. It's really why so many guys are as aggressive as they are... they're so insecure that they feel obligated to maintain an image.
But childbirth, PMS, asshole guys, historical surpession, possibility of rape... The only I'm jealous about is the silky underwear.... oops, I said too much. :ok:

lol... that's the carlos mencia arguement for why women have it easier, fras.
it's bullshit, really. There are some women who live like that, but I don't think it happens that way as much as it used to. Look how many kids are being raised by mom only.
I make way more money than teh bf  I'm a sugar momma
That said, humans of both genders have it pretty bad in general. I'm voting girls though ;)

Fraser just described my life!!! Ha ha! I love my life this way.
I voted guys, just to see the results, and because they have to deal with women. But I think it's equal.
Men struggle with things, they are just taught to be strong and not show it. They go through as many bitches and whores, as women go through ass-holes and jerks.

I think girls are bound to say they have it worse, as they're more likely to complain about shit in their lives lol. Unos examplé : For the majority bullying at school for a girl might entail the odd harsh comment or maybe, gasp, a slap round the face/hair pull. but for a bloke you're talking a BEAT-DOWN if you're really unlucky. Im talking bloodspilling.
But yeah it's all objective, hence my first comment slating the question.

i did think of you after allison, and hoped you'd take it well, which you did - youre a cool gal - i didnt mean anything negative by it I personally wouldnt mind having a little wifey at home to look after the kids [and me!] and to keep the house in order thats a full time job in itself. but yeah I'm sure the percentage of women living your life grossly outweighs men in similar positions.
The only I'm jealous about is the silky underwear.... oops, I said too much. :ok:

Carlos Mencia is a comedian, he does a show called Mind of Mencia on comedy central. He did an episode a while ago where he walked around and asked women and men on the street this same question, if men or women have it easier. His position was that women have it easier, because they can use their sexuality to get what they want (an example was that having boobs will help you in a job interview) and that they can get a man to give them everything and work his ass off to keep them happy.
That's true in some cases, like I said. I won't argue that having boobs probably does help in a job interview if the interviewer is male. But every job I've ever had, my bosses were female and the person who hired me was always female. I've never had a male boss! So either I got the job because I was qualified or because the bosses were lesbos :D
That brings up an interesting question though...do you think being a good-looking guy would give you an advantage in a job interview with a female boss?
You are totally right about bullying in school... girls tend to psychologically torture one another, and boys go for the physical beat-down.
rogaine
09-21-2006, 12:36 PM
you have to get lucky to be in that situation in my opinion tho. there aren't too many guys who have the ability to do that.. or that would want to. you can SAY we dont' have to get educated, but what happens when the husband dies or finds a younger, prettier girl? you're screwed and (a lot of the time) left to raise kids by yourself making $10k a year.
i KNOW guys have bad shit go on in their lives, what i said was kind of a joke! but i still think girls have it worse ;)

Him leaving or dying is a huge fear of mine. He's my best friend first and provider second though, so I'm sure the emotional loss would overshadow the fact that I was poor again. Housewives discuss this often, each praying it doesn't happen to them.
My whole life right now is based on trust. I'm trusting him to provide for our child and me. He's trusting me to care for him, our home and child. Most women really think I'm being stupid and will end up being screwed over. Women are pretty sick really, because when we just lived together, the ladies at work would always tell me to "get the ring" so if he turned on me, I could at least get half of what he owned. All they could do is equate men with money. A lot of them think men owe the woman something if the deal falls apart. Women are set up to want to be married, then the second you are, your supposed to start worrying about what if it fails.
Fuck that shit. I'm trusting this person. He's the only person I've trusted since age 9. If I get burned, I get burned.

09-21-2006, 01:07 PM
i'm in no way saying what you're doing is stupid or you shouldn't do it. all i was saying is it's not really a great reason (it's a good reason maybe ;)) to think women have it easier, as it doesn't always work as well as it has for you. i didn't mean to offend.
and believe me, i have tons of respect for what you do. i was unemployed for a couple months and my job was to cook, clean, shop for groceries, and occasionally take care of my bf's daughter, and it was fucking hard. i'm SO GLAD i'm working again, it's so much less stressful!

Girls have it worse. But there's another instance when I think girls have the upper hand, and that is on dates. On a typical date (early in the relationship, pre-sex), the man is dealing with an unknown - Will he get laid or not? The woman, on the other hand, already knows if he's getting laid or not. This gives her the upper hand.
yes, I stole that from Coupling. But it's totally applicable.

09-21-2006, 10:09 PM
Hmm.
Very valid points from both sides. But no one has specified whether the 'easier' part is physically or mentally. Sure, women have to deal with the brunt of physical trauma, i.e. menstruation, pregnancy, childbirth. I do think though that men receive worse treatment mentally, and then in turn physically.
If you think about it most atrocities in life can be attributed to men. They have to act a certain way, do certain things, and shit, they're as bitchy as women... though they would never admit it. It's all defensive. This leads to physical violence, in most cases it's a 'lesson'. But why then are such large acts of violence carried out by men? It's based on insecurity. However much a man will appear confident, usually it's the opposite. There are few boundaries of the adult male mind, especially before they procreate. There is nothing there to hold them back, apart from social mores. It's a case of trying to keep a balance on everything, if that is lost then they are lost. That's why men can be so controlling, it's because they have so little control in their own lives, if they can perpetuate it onto someone else then it can provide something that they are missing.
I can't be bothered to go on, unless anyone cares.

More points to mention:
sexual harassment cases grossly worse for men. and teacher/pupil stuff.
getting kicked in the balls doesnt transcribe to birds. and fuck pregnancy laura! you get a fucking baybee at the end of it! blokes dont have that to look forward to when they're passing a kidney stone through the urethra (that probably is worse than a direct hit to teh balls)
err you have to put a fair bit of effort in when having sex. no sitting back and chilling - particularly if you are really up (no pun intended) for the occasion not your typical pissed shag

the guy the girl's with gets the baby with no pain involved!
I think most girls have to put a pair bit of effort into sex if they want to orgasm.
And girls have to deal with a shitload of mental aguish as well. How they're supposed to look, how they're supposed to act, what they're supposed to eat etc etc. It's exhausting.

I still think women generally have it worse, but so many men are so repressed that they aren't even aware of this type of thing about themselves.

Childbirth isn't that bad, it's a fun experience! Painful, but so amazing! The last month of pregnancy is so agonizing that you don't care how much it hurts, you just want it to be over. And the process of your body afterwards is cool too.
I think putting up with periods forever is an ok exchange to have the super-power to give birth. I never would have said that if I didn't have a child, but seeing/feeling your body go through that is like learning what life means, while making you feel like a farm animal.

Do yourself a favour and go get a dictionary. Look up the words "opinion" and "fact" and then let that lonely brain-cell of yours work out the mistake you have made here.
There is nothing entertaining about calling you arrogant. If you find such simple truths a source of amusement, then you seriously need to go and see the doctor.

Oh well done! Of course, I am in fact the world's first fully-operational android. I was manufactured in Area-51 back in 1950 and successfully kept secret from all the world's media. I have go-go-gadget arms that can reach any keyboard within a 5-mile radius. My legs enable me to leap to a height of over 1,000 feet and I am totally indestructible and immortal.
You might be familiar with an old 1970's entertainment show called the "Six-Million Dollar Man" which was based on me, but of course, in reality, I cost a lot more than that. He had flaws that I do not.
Oh, and due to my superior artificial brain, (which has an IQ over 70,000), I have discovered the secrets of time travel and, perhaps more importantly, I have invented special shoes which can automatically avoid dogshit when walking through the park.

The low intellect of your posts, combined with your total failure to grasp logic (responding is quite the opposite from ignoring) and your hypocrisy (considering your own "name-calling"; by your own logic, "people" should ignore you too) lend the rational mind to lean towards the latter.

But it's totally applicable.
what if the guy doesn't care if he gets laid at the end of the date? :therock:

everyone cares. they're just folling themselves if they think they're a "new" man.

I'm a little bias since I'm a single mother. But I must say, men can have it rough too. The whole "men must be macho" got to be hard when they feel like expressing their emotions. But I think women have been shafted for an awful long time. Yeah, I'm a feminist :)
