So, what trends do you guys like right now? Actually, I'm not even sure what's trendy right now, i'm out of the loop. I DO KNOW, however, that owl necklaces like this are in:
http://i22.ebayimg.com/06/i/08/4f/6a/d6_1_b.JPG
YOU KNOW HOW I KNOW THIS? well, listen up. When i was 3ish, my grammy gave me that exact same necklace (only it was silver), and then when i was 12 i left it somewhere and then it got sold. But anyway, my grammy reminded me of it about 6 months ago and i was like, "ohholy shit!" b/c i forgot about it and i love owls, so i went onto ebay and found the almost exact one i had and bought it. Then i started wearing it and everyone was like, "wow!" or something. Not really but they probably thought it. Then one day a few months ago I was in Nordstrom, and they started selling these owl necklaces! I was like omfggg wf. Then when I was in Green Park in London in May or June, I saw a really cool awesome girl wearing one!! You GUYS. It was infuriating. So don't even think about getting one or i'll shit on your neck.
Ummm, I hate those garden clog shoes more than fucking anything. Also, ankle boots I hate.

I hated it when people started wearing diamante encrusted cockrings. I'd always stuck my own gemstones on with superglue, and then WHAM... all the other guys in the locker room suddenly had these jazzy little numbers on.

Bailey, I'm mesmerized by your avatar. I pretend he's a robot cat who goes, "bleep, blop, blorp". Either that, or an alien species of cat who has come to invade Earth. "TAKE ME TO YOUR LITTER", he'd say.

oh pity, i thought i made it up! Well, I may try it anyway at my next party; one person per country should be able to do this trick.
Hohn, firstly, it's a she, yeesh!!1!L Actually, it looks more male but i like girls better. Secondly, I do agree with bleep blop blorp, altho i may prefer bleep blop boop. But anyway, i never know quite what to think of my avatar. All i know is that i love it and i like to sometimes think that he/she's a nurse holding some important person's health record, or it's a student holding its homeworkkk...i do not know.

P.S., I'm eating vegitarian chili, and it's all over my beard.

Why does everyone have cat avatars now? Not that I'm complaining. It must be a new trend. I should upload a Mitsou one.
Ok, current trends: Um, scarves as headbands? I don't know.

Skinny Jeans

Big ugly strappy purses

I'm quite obsessed with green eyeliner at present, and I just bought my friend an owl brooch, it looks really really cross, which is cool. I'm also rediscovering very old clothes, I went to a wedding recently and wore a dress that had been hiding in a wardrobe at my mother's house since 1998. Never worn it before either! And I found a skirt from about four years ago that just seems perfect now, and a pair of shoes I bought when I was 18 that just keep on coming back to being right.

haha i never noticed that!! hohn, maybe YOU should have this avatar, tho i'm never givin' it up. You should have it too, though!
Laura would hate me too b/c all my bags are the size of my house. Irish John says they are unreasonably big, but I think they are just fun or something ;( and sry guys, i like skinny jeans with flats ;(((( but i know that it's really overplayed. I still like the look tho, o well. I also like metallic D: but mostly for just shoes and some bags.
but please, does anyone here have those gardening clogs?? PLEASE BE HONEST (so that i can openly hate you) (just kidding but really)

skinny jeans are quite unpleasant, moreso on boys. when they started selling them in topman they had really naf posters up, stuff like "FINALLY, GET THAT ROCKSTARSUPERSTARGLITTERMARIAH LOOK THAT YOU'VE ALWAYS WANTED. SKINNY JEANS, AS WORN BY SOME TALENTLESS, JUNKIE "MUSICIANS".... YOU STUPID FUCKS, DIE, SUMMER, DIE. BOYD HOYLAND IS A STUPID CUNT.DIE, BOYD, DIE.

Only really skinny people seem to wear skinny jeans, because normal looking people look weird in them.
Oh god, skinny jeans can not possibly last long. Such an unflattering look on 97% of the population. You know what else? the lineny ruffled rounded-collar shirts. And wedged boots. I'm sure I'll think of more later after witnessing various fashion horrors at work today.

i have to admit, i do wear skinny jeans, but ONLY when tucked into knee boots. regular jeans are too bulky to go under boots.

i wear skinny jeans and killer heels all the time. it's the only thing i know.
i sometimes wear them with flats too, but my legs are stocky so it looks a bit rubbish.
actually, skinny jeans look a bit rubbish on me at the moment as i am a fatty.
Leela
09-26-2006, 01:18 PM
Grania, you couldn't wear skinny jeans if you were a fatty. Trust me.
I know this is kinda out already, but I HATE HATE HATE really pointy shoes. I think they're horribly unattractive, and they just SCREAM bitch. and I think square/rounded toes are much prettier. the end

well we're not 12 so I don't think this trend applies to anyone here but still
kids are wearing those shoes with wheels on them into the mall (I work at a mall, and here's hoping not for too much longer but that's another story) anyways they're basically roller skating through the fucking mall and one day one of them is going to fall and bust their head open or else make an old person they run into fall and bust their head open. I can't stand those fucking shoes...roller skating is fun but they need to quit zipping through crowded public places where other people are shopping and basically being a nuisance.
On the flip side the roller rink is going to close down because no one goes to it...it makes no sense...that's where you're SUPPOSED to roller skate.

i love flats, they're all i wear.
and i like the skinny-jeans look (if it's not done in an "I AM A HIPSTER" way) but haven't attempted pulling it off myself. for the first time in a million years, i own two pairs of jeans i am absolutely in love w/. one is a wideleg (not flare, okay) trouser-esque Triple Five Soul pair, the other are dark indigo, slight-bootcut Levis with a smidge of stretch.
once upon a time, i mean at least two years ago, i liked the leggings look. but now it's played too much, and i realize it rarely looks good.
hmm. for tops, i've been sometimes layering tank-tops over tees (long, 3/4 and short-sleeved.) oftentimes i have no idea if i look like a crazy bag-lady, a total tool or quasi-decent. and i really need new shoes. thee end.
i also must admit to loving the skinny jeans... when i first started hearing about this trend (aka when guys started doing this) i was horrified and remembered being a young girl wearing "skinny" clothes in the late 80s/ early 90s and how i thought such a look could NEVER EVER possibly resurface cause it was so horrible, but when i saw a few girls wearing them i thought hmm that looks cute, so i tried it out and i love it... yes with flats, but not always.
generally i hate the trends that emerge every season like the militaryish thing that was so big last year i despised....so i feel like a tool now because i love the look this season which never seems to be the case, and i know in a year something different will be what everyone is wearing, but jeans that fit good do a lot to make you feel better about people looking at you.
i also find the clog things ungodly horrible, and hate those kids that wear rollerskate shoes, and pointy shoes scream hooker, and i HATE the tights look i mean people wear just tights wtf!! or with a skirt.. it looks so grade 10 i cant stand it, and ive never seen the owl thing but it looks cute to me.
Intern Kate
09-27-2006, 10:52 AM
yeah, my cousin in 8th grade does the tights/leggings thing. she's a little cutie and prob my fav cousin so i say go for it. but i repeat, 8th grade.
oh yeah, and there was a boy i was kind of crushin' on last year in school, but after seeing him wear those gardening clogs, try as i might (and i did a little) i couldn't get over my inner snob and muster up an attraction toward him anymore. there were other reasons too, gawd. and i am not 100% confident in this, but there was a possibility he was in-denial-gay.

that makes sense! And it's good to know that Slater's still alive! I found a bit of paper in my room with "14.05.99" written at the top, and underneath it said

btw Bailey if you ever see this, i don't know if you've been to Faces lately but they have 14-16 dollar flats that are in the shape of our old Payless ones, in red, brown, black and different metallic shades too. there are also more rounded ballet-esque leopard print flats w/ a bow! i will get some pair, hopefully tomorrow after work, but haven't yet decided which.
but on Mario Lopez: the other day i was visiting my Grandma and we were talking about Dancing with the Stars and she couldn't remember someone she was trying to talk about so she went and brought a piece of paper where she'd written down all the contestant's names and info about them. she's obsessed. and she kept saying she has a crush on Mario Lopez with his adorable dimples.

megan, you're back!!
and pointy shoes are awesome, they do make your legs look long and thin. however, i am extremely picky about just how they come to a point; like bailey pointed out, the ones that go out sooooooo long past the toe are a NO, and they cannot be squared off at the end!! that totally ruins it.
and i hate square toed shoes more than just about anything.
