why do guys always claim they're 6' tall, not what they actually are?

being a tall lady myself, i can't TELL you how many guys i've been out with that have been like, how tall are you? 6'? and i'm like, "no.. i'm only 5'9"." they don't believe me and we end up getting into an argument about how i'm NOT 6 feet tall and they're, sadly, under 6'.

is this a pride thing? are you less of a man if you're under 6'?

Dunno, but I'm only 5'9". I think the average Caucasian male distribution or whatever is 5'10" to 6'2" so yeah maybe > 6' sounds taller than average.

Is it a pride thing? Probably. A lot of guys are sensitive about they're height (little dog syndrome). Personally I've never felt that I've had to impress anybody with my height, but I am 6'1", so ha!

Actually, to be totally honest, I wouldn't date a guy who was 6 feet tall. Hell, I'm 5'7" with my shoes on and I wouldn't get involved with anyone over 5'9". I don't like breaking my neck when trying to kiss someone.

I'm 5'9 and I've never claimed to be 6 foot, ever. I don't even see the point as it's so obvious that I'm not. I think biggest lie about my height was saying that I was 5'10.... which I am with shoes on. :O I haven't grown since I was about 14 or 15. yay!

It's funny, my brother claims to be 6' tall, but I know I'm at least 6', and I've got at least 2 inches on him. I forget how tall I am exactly, it's either 6'1" or 6'2". More likely 6'1", but who knows.

The 6' thing applies to those taller than that as well, a couple of my exes were at least 6'2" but claimed to be 6'. Fools. I have a history of attracting the very tall, which is odd cos you'd think they'd leave a munchkin like me for their smaller brethren. I don't really care about height, I do like very tall but smaller is fine too, it's more about what their face is like really.

I always hated that. I'm 6'1" and I really got tired of everyone asking me if I liked basketball. I'm utterly shit at basketball, try again.

I don't know, maybe. Probably actually. I could always go back to college after my career's over. My mom would throw such a fit though. She was a model when she was younger and doesn't want me anywhere near it because she says it's a horrible buisness. I don't think I'm pretty enough to be a model anyway.
