The desk looks like you are at school making art. Not writing. Not that it matters, it is a very cool picture.
Lately I've been working on combining painting with collage. And markers, wax, cut up note cards and whatever else I find. I tried to use needle and thread on canvass paper, but it was too hard to get through, so I gave up.
I'm a mediocre artist. Most work I love at first, then later I hate it. I doubt anyone would buy it. Out of 20 works, I may like one. I'm learning to be messy, since I've identified that I like that sort of thing.
I quit using oil paint when I had my son (so he wasn't exposed to fumes) but I'm positive I must get back to that. I fucking HATE acrylic paint.
I quit writing when I realized what a shitty hack I was.

So am i! :D What's yours about? Mine is a comedy. It's about a 44 year old waste management executive that gets demoted. He then has to go around all of Chicago and pick up trash by himself in his station wagon. He gets depressed but his next door neighbor, a 27 year old fashion designer, steps in and helps him out of his rut. I want to get done by Autumn. It's going good so far.... We'll see.
Tell me about yours though.

I'm currently working on a 4 track EP of solo material, in a sort of drum machines + guitars type of framework.

Three novels I can't make myself finish. One needs editing, one's half done, and the other I shouldn't have ever started because I have enough trouble concentrating on one thing as it is. To boot, I haven't worked on them much in months. I justify it by writing short stories here and there...

It's going to be an animated comedy about the collapse of civilisation, or thereabouts. It's going slowly 'cause I haven't hit my groove with it yet, if you know what I mean.
I'd watch it.
me too!
the collapse of civilisation
there's this jewelry shopping channel that my bf and I sometimes watch during ads cause it's cheap thrills & laughs. so far we've identified a hideous-tastic brooch that's visible from MIR (space station) and probably overshadows the Great Wall of China in terms of things astronauts can see from up there. I mean seriously, this brooch could intercept satellite communications :scared:
AND
zomg, today we actually earmarked a ring that surely could bring about the collapse of (a) civilisation :D it's.....there are no words. really.

love interest?
No, because he's a guy (the fashion designer). He doesn't really know how to help him (the waste management exec) though, so they just eat sushi in a park together and read books to little kids. It's good therapy though and helps more than he ever imagined.

I'm drawing an art nouveau thing. It's taking foreeeeever. I have an idea for a book going around in my head, but I'm lazy and have no confidence in myself.

I have an idea for a cheesy horror movie about a librarian who accidentally awakens a satanic curse lying dormant in old religious texts...but the simpsons probably did it

Sounds more like the mummy than the simpsons to me, only not Satanic of course. It's okay though, just don't give it a fight club ending and it'll still feel fresh.

I do that as well; I think it's such a cool style. And it's so fun to do; especially at 2 in the morning.
