yeah it took me ages to select them and i have no idea how it'll go.

it seems pretty good if you are really into following the premier league, as you say - fixture-by-fixture. one freee transfer each time = a lot of potential tinkering

no. you are allowed one transfer at no cost (to your points tally) per week. this is especially helpful if one of your lads picks up a long-term injury. but, I mean, I was thinking about it and there are so many factors you can use to pick a team - whether a particular player scores often against a team, whether he tends to play well at home and poorly away, how likely he is to be substituted/a substitute, etc. and if you start cutting it that fine you'll probably drive yourself insane.

as far as I see it, the way the values are now you can pick a pretty decent squad. though there are too many surprises in the game to be all that certain.

I wouldn't spend too much time tinkering around with it, if I were you.

EDIT: you can make unlimited transfers before the first gameweek!

reagrding transfers, yeah, if used tactuically and thoughtfully they can pay off well. I don't like to tinker too much but if any of my squad get injured or dropped for a long period they are out!

Plus, I have selected my squad and have used up all my moolah. But am holding out a bit to see where the Italians go. But they all seem to be emigrating to Spain.

If I get some balls I may post my team...hang on, once it starts you will be able to see it anyway...so I'll keep the suspense.

ESPN 2 had a few games on last year, or at least in springtime. So maybe. Actually I think that was just the playoffs or whatever. It was quite fun to watch, I hope they expand the coverage. Usually it's on at noon or so because of the time difference. And actually 9 now I suppose as I've moved back to the west coast.

As I said, my forwards are a gamble. Kitson seemed decent for Reading last season, hopefully he can take his form to the prem. Berbatov is a class act too, I expect him to get over 10 goals if he plays regularly, same with Ashton.

I'm only happy with one of my strikers, but can't really see any alternatives. I could do with changing on of my midfielders too, but I'm going see how everyone starts.

A bit gutted one of my midfielders (scholes) might be out for the first three games for getting sent off in a friendly.

Everton defender Tony Hibbert will miss the start of the season after being struck down with a rare illness.

The 25-year-old full-back has been diagnosed with cryptosporidium parasite, an illness transmitted through infected water or food.

Everton physiotherapist Mick Rathbone told the club website: "It seems Tony has picked up a parasite, presumably when he was on his holidays.

"There is no actual treatment for it. But he should, in time, fight it off."

He added: "It may take days or weeks. We don't really know. We see Tony every day and he seems a lot better every day. But he hardly ate for seven to 10 days and he isn't eating that much now.

"He lost more than half a stone so he is not going to return quickly. He is getting a further check this weekend and if that shows the parasite is beaten, he would still need a little bit of work before even thinking of playing a game."

I need to shift at least one mid and one striker, preferably two of each.

-I shoulda started off with Terry instead of Ferdinand.
-I shoulda gotten Andrew Johnson. He did great at Palace, why didn't I pick him?
-I shoulda traded Given as soon as he got the long term injury, otherwise his value just drops and you lose your spare keeper anyway.
-Pretty much no point spending $ on your subs if you pick your players/formation right. The chance of you missing points one week because one of your XI didn't play is not worth it against the potential value of a better star player.
-Gerrard has been disappointing this season. Should I pick another captain?
