I think the controlling is incredibly origional and inovating. Unfortunetely the inovation is all that nintendo really has - although that does open the door for lots of possibilities. The Wii has really nothing to show for new graphics and it looks like a gamecube with a new controller. Also, the commercials are focusing too much on people holding the controller and playing the game when we all know it will never be as exciting as these commercials make it.

Yes but the Wii is gonna be cheap and if the PS3 sales are slow because of the price expect developers to be making more games for the Wii system.

it's gonna be able to do a lot of different things and people dont really have to develop games just for the motion sensor controller.
the gamecube controller will hook up to it as well for games like smash bros.
and the classic controller is coming out for the retro games.

i cant' wait to be able to download Castlevania 2 Simons Quest, Kid Icarus,and even some sega genesis games.thats gonna be cool.

I can't really think of any games nintendo released that had bad graphics.
certaily they were better than the PS2's graphics.

Especially since sony is releasing a blue ray disc player for 1000$ and yet the ps3 will play blue rays, ps2 games, ps1 games, DVD's and audio CD's - all for only 600$ compared to the 1000$ for just the blue-ray player. I think something fishy is going on there. I mean, will the blue ray player for the ps3 not be top quality? I guess I'll just have to wait and find out before I make any next-gen choices and serious opinions.

Yeah it best to wait a while. especially in the case of Sony. They have a habit of releasing consoles that don't last. especially in the first year or two of their systems.
My first PS2 only lasted two years and i bought it only six months after launch. the one i have now works fine but i only use it to play PS2 games.
i don't play dvds on it anymore and i dont use it for Ps1 games either because my ps1 still works.

many people had problems with their Ps1 oveheating the first few years also.

Eventually they streamline how the thing is made and if you wait you will end up getting a better made longer lasting console. and hopefully the price will drop too. Just look at how small and cheap the PS2 is now compared to how it used to be.

I rember trying a few games out like FF7 and i dint feel the difference was Major.

Yeah, I will admit that I played through the entire ff7 again on PC only because I could. I found it helped me digest the story and everything a bit more - it was well worth it. I wonder what Dirge of Cerberus will be like next month...

I agree with this, all of this. Although, as someone else said, the graphics aren't going to be bad. And really, no one will ever notice a difference (at least not for a long time anyway) because you have to have an HD television for them.

Gamecube's graphics are pretty nice. I actually heard a rumor (it might have even been an official announcement at the time, i don't recall) around the time Sony, Microsoft, and Nintendo were all just TALKING about the new systems. Nintendo said they weren't going to release a new system because the Gamecube had so many options that had been unexplored that it would be unnecessary.

I agree though. Having blindingly brilliant graphics doesn't matter to me right at this point. I don't need to count every single strand of hair the characters have. But i do want it to look GOOD. And Gamecube does that. The Wii is going to advance the graphics though, but only by a little, and that's just enough for me. Because i am nowhere near the point of throwing down 1000$ for a plasma screen.

People are dogging the Wii, but i actually think it's going to blow people away. And i don't think it's impossible for it to outsell the PS3. Nintendo has laid a good foundation of making user-friendly games. I sort of look at the Nintendo like a Mac. Years ago people laughed at Apple. Now look where they are! The gaming interface is so simple, and it's always been that way. Now they've made it even simpler. And with "Mario Galaxy", !!!!! "SMASH BROTHERS BRAWL"!!! (i can't WAIT for this game! and you'll be able to play ONLINE!!!!!!), the Metroid games, Zelda games.... They'll do just fine, trust me. :)

I don't know how long it will take but eventually i will have both the Wii and a Ps3 theres no way i could live without playing nintendos always great games,
mario metroid ,zelda, animal crossing,paper mario and of course all the classics from the virtual console.



and there is also no way i can live wothout playing final fantasy games so
unfortunately i have to plunk out the money for a PS3 when that comes around.

i had an n64 and a playstation, i had gamecube and a Ps2 so i'll just keep doing the same.

I'm actually going to save up a cool 1,000$ though just with the sole purpose of buying a Wii and a PS3 when they come out. Then i'm going to lock myself in a room with them both, feed myself intravenously, and none of you Blamos will have to be bothered with me again. :D
