reread the play recently, as we're going to see a performance of it in nine days, and it's the most exquisite nihilistic comedy. it just reeks of sexual perversity, false justice, and utter madness. Shakespeare at his most disgusted. i hope the troupe plays it straight instead of reinterpreting it as merry farce.
