What have I been missing, and why?
Seriously, I've heard sports are enjoyable and such but I've never adhered to such things. I think I dislike the hysteria connected with them, I know I dislike many sports players and fans.

For one thing, in baseball at least, there's a great comfort in seeing that human endeavor can be turned into and wholly described by soulless numbers.
