THE FUCKING TIGERS???? They haven't been a good team in years and now they're the BEST TEAM in the majors??? How the fuck does that happen?

Also: not surprised to see the cubs in the shitter so soon. Totally expected. Prior is already on the DL for god's sake!

What do you think about the Mets this year?

The Mets aren't looking too bad. They lead the NL East. I think the Braves will still beat them out, though. I hate the Mets but I like them more than the Yankees.

I think that quick one season turnaround for the Mets is going to have to wait...I think that if they fill in a few key spots this year with trades, they'll contend in their division, but I don't think this year is a world series year for them, especially with St. Louis still being a force in the NL.

My mariners are in the shitter but have seen glimmers of hope from their prospects. The team is very young now seemingly, lots of minor league guys getting broken in. I think next year will be better, but it's a three year process and this is year 1.

I hate the Yankess. I hate the Yankees. and I hate Boston, too. GO SOX.

Haha, yep, the TIGERS.

I'm a Cubs fan. They really suck this year. They're playing without any heart. At all.

Derrek Lee might be abck soon and Mark Prior has a start in the minor leagues on Monday. So things may look up soon, but we just can't find a way to win. We had a lead yesterday in the 9th inning and our shitty closer combined with our shitty Neifi Perez gave the game away when we had a 5-3 lead.

I really can't see them getting back to .500 anytime soon with a 18-30 record.

Could do an Oakland

My Angels have free fallen in the past year no thanks to Bill Stoneman kissing ass to "every" prospect and failing to get us a slugger who isn't Vlad. Not all of them we can keep and not all of them (Mathis, post Mono Kotchman) are good. Plus, two words: Jeff Weaver. Speaking of Jeff...

...His brother makes his debut tonight against the Orioles. He was the 1st round draft pick for them in 2004. I'm looking forward to great things from him.

The Braves are piss poor. They rely on the two Jones for batting cos they have fuck all else. Cant survive a season like that. The Mets are much stronger team.

As is the life of Cubs fans. I'm not really all that worried. We're just in a slump right now, we'll pull back up. We're not gonna win any titles this year methinks, but hey, I still love em.

IMPEACH DUSTY BAKER!!!

I saw the Cubs won last night though.

I was at CBP yesterday watching the Fighting Phils destroy the Nationals. The backbone of our team is so young now, and I reckon, due to Chase Utley, the Phillies have more female fans than any other team.

Meanwhile, I want to dig a screwdriver into Matt Clement's ear.

Yeah, but he didnt really stick out all that much. Have you seen that guy's bat? Jesus CHRIST! Its almost as big as he is.

The ball was really flying today. So many catches out on the fence. Its a wonder only 3 went over. Particularly Byrd's amazing jump to stop Abreu's homer. Really wasnt anything the game today.

Hey Ted, what do you think of Gammons?

Eh. He's good for rumors, because every front office talks to him, but I don't trust any of his analysis (especially his analysis of Red Sox players: rosy fanboy stuff). To his credit, though, he IS the rare Establishment Sportswriter who's come around to sabermetrics, if imperfectly.

THe Mets have been awesome. The fucking cunts!

Still a long way to go mind, but the Phils are making way too many mistakes and losing too many games they should be winning (against the Mets for starters!). They are only 3 GB the wildcard as it stands so its not all over.

But yeah, Atlanta may be slow starters but this is taking the piss.

Yeah, the Mets look really good. David Wright hit a pair of two-run homers today. He seems to be quite the player.

all of a sudden the mariners are looking pretty alright again. their win percentage for june was a BIG improvement over that of may/april. All of a sudden they're not in the basement of the West anymore! Though the west as a whole is pretty shitty this year, a far departure from when it was the toughest division in baseball.
