Feeling Brackish

I read Everything is Illuminated recently. It was a very entertaining read. Parts of it were so funny I was laughing out loud, and then others were so sad I was on the verge of tears. I didn't like what he did with his use of the english language toward the end. During this really emotional part he started combining words at random like this: ItsverydifficulttoreadbutIsupposehedidit toexpressacertainsortofemotional outburstorsomesuchthing. I don't know why he did it, and it was really annoying, but other than that, I loved the strange and interesting story. I just bought his second book, whose title eludes me right now, but I have yet to read it.
So has anyone else read any of his work or heard of him? What do you think?

I haven't read him, but I can guarantee that Ted hates him. In fact, I think he's said as much already.

Oh, well, yeah. It goes without saying that Ted doesn't like him. I figured that already.

Yes. He's number two on my enemies list, after Dave Eggers. He moved up a spot after JT Leroy turned out not to exist.
safran/crocus fields are beautiful...esp. in the snow. Crocii are a bitch to cultivate, a bitch x2 to pick and the safran threads are expensive but the fields are gorgeous. Always a highlight after crossing the stupid mountains.

I loved Everything Is Illuminated so much I bought his second book in hardback, and I NEVER do that. I can see why some people hate him though.
I actually have a tiny picture of him stuck to my computer.
