Quasi Show Pix and Setlist @ Neumo's 4/15

This has also been posted on the ES board. Just putting it here for those who miss it there.

So I went to the Quasi show last night. Fucking awesome, as always. Even more awesome this time around because Joanna Bolme (who, IIRC, mixed From A Basement...) played with them on the bass. There was even a song or two where Janet left the drums and took over for Sam on the keys. AND Janet got to do one of her songs! I was able to snag a setlist, which isn't complete, but here's what's written on it.

They threw one or two other songs in there that I can't remember at the moment. But it was a great show. Both openers were good, although ex-Girl was really, really weird. They definitely know how to put on a show though. The sound didn't quite match the visual in terms of quality, but it was fun. Kind of like Japanese bubblegum pop on 3 hits of Sandoz acid leftover from the 60's.

I apologize for the poor quality, but I didn't want to use a flash as it seemed rude to do so. These were also taken on a camera phone. There's one picture of ex-Girl up there too. In the track you have listed as Sword of God, at about 1:55, the song changes to Sea Shanty, and at about 6:25, it changes to Empty Words. Which means they did go out of order. When The Going Gets Dark was written as coming before Empty Words. And at 3:45 on the track you have called When The Going Gets Dark is a very extended rendition of Death Culture Blues. And I can only guess as to what the ending jam was. I'm guessing something from Early Recordings as I haven't really listened to/don't particularly like that album. Other than that, everything looks good. Sounds quite good for a non-SBD recording too. Nice job. I have (very low-res) video of Sam hitting himself on the head with a tambourine, which is pretty funny, if anyone's interested.

Also, for the encore Good Times leads into Our Happiness is Guaranteed.

It's a great recording well worth having.
