Maynard said in a French interview that A Perfect Circle in over. Hopefully more reason why James will join the pumpkins again. :bop:
It's on www.toolnavy.com under the 10,000 days forum in the French interview thread. I can't post a link because it says they've banned my IP address. Whatever that means.

That sounds shifty to me, not exactly the greastest of sources. Apparently my IP is also banned. But I wouldn't take any word of that at seriously till I saw it on an official website or something.

It's shady as all hell. The translator of that article doesn't seem to understand basic English to begin with, and it only says "APC is over." Which may mean nothing.

I don't really care.
I love the first album, like the second album, and the third album was just a piece of shit.

Hmm. If it's true I'm not terribly sad. Like Kris said I enjoyed the first two albums but I haven't even bothered buying eMotive or whatever it was. Hmm.

That said, they are an amazing live band. One of the best gigs I've been to.

Last paragraph kids... Sounds like maybe it wasn't bullshit:
In a recent interview with France's Rock Hard magazine, APC frontman Maynard James Keenan -- who is about to release a new album with his main band, Tool -- revealed that A Perfect Circle has likely reached the end of the road as a touring and recording entity. Asked what the future holds for A Perfect Circle, Maynard said, "I think it's over," before adding, "We pushed this project as far as it could go, and I see ourselves playing again together only in a few years to make one or two songs, nothing more."

over until tool is done touring with this album......how MJK usually works it - saw APC live in 2000, they were great, but the pumpkins were the headliners so no contest.

It's sad that Maynard dictates APC even though it isn't really his band, but Billy Howerdel's.
APC can stay "over" as far as I'm concerned; Mer de Noms was a good CD, but after that, everything went straight to hell. Thirteenth Step maybe has two good songs, and emotive is one of the worst cd's put out by any band this decade. Bye APC, I won't miss you. Especially with the Pumpkins coming back. APC is a poor man's NIN/Manson/Tool/Pumpkins thrown in a blender. But mainly it served as recreation for Maynard fans to obsess over when they got tired of reading the 1000th explanation for the true meaning of Tool's stupid songs.
I've seen them seven times and think they were the best live act out there. James and Billy Howerdel on the same stage....
...is nowhere close to being as amazing as James, Billy Corgan and Jimmy Chamberlin on stage.

I have to agree with you on the last statement. But...I don't think APC was god's gift to man musically, but they weren't total shit. I also don't get why Howerdel is so dependent on MJK, when he does so much of the writing and playing - and he can sing. So wth.

As I was buying Thirteenth Step, the guy at the record store told me it was great. So, assuming he knew something about it, I asked him if James was on the album or just a touring guitarist (I didn't know at the time). He said something along the lines of "I could care less". Great customer service pal, even if you don't like the guy it's no reason to be rude about it. Anyway, Thirteenth Step ended up actually being the only APC album I liked, honestly. I didn't like the first one, don't know why, it just didn't grab me, and eMotive only had a couple tracks I liked. Oh, that guy works/worked in the FYE store at University Mall in Carbondale, IL, so if you're ever down that way, you can do the "ask about James Iha" test and smack him around a bit if you like! I will not smack him around though because I know I'm joking.

I believe i remember reading an interview with Billy H. and he was saying he will carry on without Maynerd but weather or not the APC name would be used was in question.

I like some songs on the first and second albums. The second album had Pet...which for some reason I really liked. And the first one had three libras. I think those are my two faves. And they were good live. Too bad the opening act was the worst thing I've ever heard in my life (Icarus Line...blech)

Yeah all three of the opening acts I saw w/ them were AWFUL.

Well he would be more likely to say that in a foreign magazine (no offense anyone). Maynard said that A Perfect Circle is on hiatus because Tool is back, so they'll be on hold for a few years then he'll bring them back. Also A Perfect Circle went out on the hieght of their sucess aswell, so we'll be sure to see them again in the future.

Look no further than Aenima's "Hooker With a Penis" (ugh) or the title track for affirmation of that. "Stinkfist", "H" and "46&2" were good. Lateralus showed great improvement. 10,000 Days is horribly formulaic; "Vicarious" and "Wings of a Dove" aren't enough to save it.
APC is a poor man's NIN/Manson/Tool/Pumpkins thrown in a blender.
Amusingly, the With Teeth tour was basically APC with Reznor replacing Keenan.
Like Kris said I enjoyed the first two albums but I haven't even bothered buying eMotive
I enjoyed the atmosphere of 13th Step, especially the closer "Gravity". The only parts of eMOTIVE that I found interesting were the covers of "Imagine", "What's Going On", "When The Levee Breaks", and the original "Passive". The rest is disposable, like the bulk of 10,000 Days.
