I guess most (all?) of these shows came during the Figure 8 touring period. I listened to the Portland (11/10/2000) show, and it was really cool listening to electric Needle In The Hay and Cupid's Trick. What are y'all's favorites?

The full band shows are my favorite thing; I don't know why he didn't always tour with added instrumentation. I think Yer Blues is my favorite, but there are probably twenty or so others tied for second.

Stockholm 200x has to be one of them :)

First time I heard Elliott's second album I thought damn, almost every one of these songs could easily translate to a rock environment, especially Needle, Christian Bros, St Ides Heaven and Rose Parade. Just listen to the instrumental section of St Ides Heaven. That just ROCKS, even tho its acoustic guitar, snare, & cymbals. I dunno what this has to do with the thread, but I thought I'd mention it and see if anyone else thought likewise.

Given the instrumentation of his last four albums, it seems strange that he prefered to play those songs solo. He was quite brilliant in his live compensation though; he certainly didn't need another guitarist. Still, I feel he was born to rock.

i like the ludlow's 04-05-99 show a lot.
i like that when they play speed trials, they play two more measures of it after the "oooh's" at the end.

and sam's backing voacals on the last chorus are awesome awesome awesome

this is a nice thread
