"4" isn't titled "4" but rather "4????????" unless "4" is also a japanese character in which case the title is "???????????"

if anyone knows japanese and wants to give translating the track titles a try, i could make a scan of the tracklist. just lemme know.

01 - very Jamesy sounding. As in, a bit noticeably repetitive but intimate and sensitive - especially those little *ping* noises that remind you of a star shining or a teardrop or something else emo. FUCK why doesn't he release another album. K next.

03 - same tune

04 - More James Iha. Music to drive to, try not to nod off though.

06 - *ping* *ping* *ping*

08 - What the? Needs more cowbell.

10 - Reminds me of "Summer." Slidey guitar, mm. I like this.

11 - jazz kat? a little whacky. i didn't expect this one

12 - This one reminds me of the SP cos of the feedbacky noise in the background & the beginning. But still heavily Jamesy. These would be better with singing, I can imagine them going from nice to beautiful. I like how the changing drums changing the texture of the song.

13 - This one is kinda different from his usual fare, too. But spacey like "Never, Ever" was.

14 - Vulnerable as usual.

15 - I like all the key instruments a lot (piano? I wouldn't know.) This one definitely reminds me of the Smashing Pumpkins, very very nice.

16 - I feel like he has changed since we last heard something from him unadulterated by Swedes or bald men or turntables. Yeah he should do another album :cry:

18 - Another spacesong.

20 - 80's synth noises like ... I dunno, the Terminator? Or some other 80's movie I have seen a lot.

Babelfish is horrible, especially at Japanese. "The it is, and others festival"??! LOL Reminds me of the time I put something in and got "It is the is." I shit you not.

Observations: Haven't seen the movie, but I've seen the trailers, and HOLY SHIT- the Linda Linda song is INSANELY popular over here [in Japan]. Seems to be popular as a drinking song, too. They've even got it on Taiko no Tatsujin (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Taiko_no_tatsujin) at the arcades. Imagine my surprise when I show up here randomly & find out that fucking JAMES did the rest of the soundtrack. o_O; I need to keep up more... -_-;


PS: working on trying to get a new DB server set up for spfc, since the old one that keeps crashing is at my old work (on a machine I have no access to), and my emails pleading for someone to restart the freakin' thing have gone ignored for like, a month. Sorry for anyone who's missed it... -_-;
