Whenever I record, I usually get a white noise, static noise thing in the background. Isn't there something I can buy to get rid of that noise? thanks-o

What are you getting the noise from? If you don't know, what are you recording with? Into what? I.e. a microphone into a soundcard? Or an instrument directly into the soundcard? Or what? And I assume you mean it's just ambient noise, it's not like you can't hear what else is going on?

Can you hear static from the amp, or does it just appear in the recording?

Well....not really.... technically there should be less noise if you're going straight into the recording device, since there's less placesfor it to come from. Tell you what, can you just outline your whole setup, like is it an electric guitar going through effects? If so, what effects in what order? If not, what is it, and is that going through effects? So basically, the whole kaboodle.

i didn't take most of my stuff with me to college, just an acoustic guitar, a pick up for that, a bass, and a keyboard, and the recorder so everything is going straight into the recorder. no effects, nada
