the cassette label it was released on is really small, you can buy that tape and many others for 3 bucks each. Bright Eyes also released Pioneer's Park (the worst bright eyes song in my opinion) on another Unread Records (vinyl this time) comp back in the day. awww, that depresses me. I really like pioneer's park, i think its very pretty, not his best, but a solid itunes 4 star for me. I think nobody would argue that have you ever heard of jandek? is bright eyes' worst song, mostly because it isnt really even music, nor a song. With all due respect, anyone who genuinily likes that song must be a bit sick in mind. However, the next worst bright eyes song is really and solely anyones opinion... the one's that come to mind for me (excluding ones w/o lyrics) are how many lights do you see, little drummer boy, when the president talks to god, true blue, emily sing something sweet, and i guess mostly the rest of the christmas album.

Finally! :-P Though I have to admit I'm now more exited about having a clear version of the Cockroach song than I am about the rest of the show. I didn't even know they played it there until I listened to the recording.

The sound's decent, albeit a little echo-y, like it's off in the distance or something like that. But given the venue, it's entirely possible that this was the case. The first track of M. Ward's set is messed up in spots for whatever reason. Also, he did a cover of a John Fahey song, but I don't know what it's called so it's not tagged properly. If anyone knows what it is please let me know.

There were lots of technical hitches/bad sound, apparently. I had some friends there and they said that at the end, Conor went kind of ballistic - destroying lots of stuff.

The show I have has great sound and the atmosphere seemed really good as well.

Thank you. It's a short set, but very good quality. I just can't get enough of that version of First Day of My Life. Also, it's kinda hard to heard over the beautiful Spanish commentary, but when they start to play Middleman (it's actually in the last few seconds of the Hot Knives mp3) Conor says, "This is a song about hallucinogenic drugs." I love it!

Regarding the "GBG" show: It turns out that, yes, the two shows that I have in my bootleg list labele as "Live at GBG" and "Live in Sweden" from 200a are indeed the same show. They are, however, different recordings. The "GBG" show is much higher quality, the tracklist goes from 1-11, there is a Swedish intro at the beginning of the first song ("A Song to Pass the Time"), and all the tracks are tagged with "live at gbg". The "Live in Sweden" show is much lower quality, the tracks go from 2-12 (so I assume the missing track was the short Swedish intro), and the tag "Live 2001/29/08 @ Pusterviksbaren" is included, which is what you have alongside the show in your boot list. So, in short, same show, different recordings. I wasn't sure which version you have (I'd assume the higher quality one based on your setlist, but then again, you ddin't have the "GBG" tag), so I uploaded the better quality one just in case. Sorry about being so longwinded, just thought I'd straighten out the matter. Oh yeah, and thanks a lot for the boots you posted for me.

Very interesting! Good investigative work, sandra. What exactly is this eludevisibility.org place? Just somewhere to list your live recordings? Or to share them? Is it possible to somehow download or otherwise obtain these shows? The setlist closely mirrors the one for the mystery show, but isn't exactly the same, so I'm thinking they're probably two different shows, but the date is wrong for one of them (I highly doubt they played two shows the same day). I didn't even know Conor was already playing with M. Ward way back in 2002. I'd really love to get my hands on that video though! As far as I know, the performance of "No Prayer" from the mystery show is the only known recording of that song ever, so I'd love to see (!) a live (different?) performance of it. I really love the song, and've always been pretty disapponted Conor never decided to record it professionally.

Well the way I look at it, 100% of the people who care enough to find and listen to the bootleg are going to buy the album whenever it comes out anyway. So why should it matter so much?

There are plenty of websites (like communities) on livejournal that will post that song if you're looking for it.

This is for trading bootlegs and RARE songs you can't find so much anymore..not something still for purchase.

Bah! My connection keeps dropping whenever I access it - I have no problem with any other site, so I am confused. Nonetheless, this has happened before and it usually seems to sort itself out. I had never heard of soulseek and figured it was some sort of EP I hadn't heard of, but then Google helped me come to my senses. Great version of a great song, it seems to be the version he plays live (at least more often than not). I have to say I like the original a little better though, there isn't enough screaming in it! ;)
