I was at that amsterdam show by the way, first row. I got kissed by Conor in my forehead lol. And he was so close to me when he was singing Easy/Lucky/Free that you can hear me sing the word "static" lol. He put the mic next to my mouth. You know "of and endless static sea" just pay attention and you'll hear me hehe. That show was great :)

Wow Lover is sooo cool! I always liked that song despite the fact it seems to be very "unhip" to like it. Anyway it sounds really scary on the demo, and I like when that song sounds scary because it is a scary song IMHO. It's not supposed to be cute and sexy. sexy maybe but not in an healthy-let's-be-fuckbuddies way.

I like the eery quality.

I also love the live versions of the same song on the digital tour for the same reason. Speaking of which the show you posted is one of the most disturbing things I ever heard. I like it but...I dunno. Conor sounds...weird. Not normal Conor drunk...he scares me lol, I'm not sure why.

This is a small selection of rarities. Hopefully some of you guys would like a couple of them.


I think this is from the special concert that Yo La Tengo held to celebrate 20 years together. Conor Oberst really puts a lot of emotion into this song (which is a nice way of saying that he pretty much yells/screams his way through it). It's pretty unusual to hear him get so loud and scream so much. Off the top of my head, the only songs that I can remember him screaming in are Let's Not Shit Ourselves, Spent on Rainy Days, and Kathy with a K's Song. There are probably plenty of others that just aren't coming to mind.

Conor's voice sounds really spent in this one; he may also be under the influence as he sort of slurs through it. He actually forgets the lyrics at one point and stops for a second (but, come on, he's written hundreds of songs, no? And wordy songs at that! He's only human.). It's a nice rendition of the song though. I'm not sure what show it's from, so if anyone knows, let me know.

You're either going to love or hate this one (personally, I think it's wonderful). The song drags on a bit toward the end and Jason Mraz gets a little carried away, but, man, is it great (some would argue better than the original, although I still like Conor's more).

I've never heard anyone mention this guy/band before, but wow, I was really blown away by the one original song and this Bright Eyes cover when I heard them. I think they're called Thinnerdust and are from Sweden (although I couldn't pick up on any sort of accent). I'm not sure whether or not they've realeased any CDs, but they have a myspace (although they only have 12 friends and not a single reply! What an undiscovered gem!). I was actually just messing around on SoulSeek and happened to search for "Bright Eyes covers" and let it sit there all night. The next morning, I found this song and thought, "Hey, I've never seen this before!" So I downloaded it and what a pleasant surprise it was! I just fell for the music instantly. I immediately started hunting for some sort of back catalogue from this band, but couldn't find anything except for the single song that you can download from their (very skimpy) website. Anyways, check them out! (And before anyone accuses me of it: No, I am not in any way affiliated with this band and plugging them shamelessly. I neither speak Swedish nor do I play any instrument well enough to be in a band, although I wish I could do both).

OK, i have compiled my "Works of Conor" collection to a near complete. The only songs i know of which i am missing are the following. If you can upload them for me you would essentially prove your divinity because i am pretty certain that nobody has these songs.
