Can anyone recommend me something, or give me some stuff to look at or anything that'd help me chose, because I don't know where to start. I need something I can gig with, and I'd rather it be pretty clean and clear. My budget is up to about £700 (roughly $1250), I'd rather not go up quite so high but I can if needs be. I can't think of any more specifics, so go ahead and suggest stuff.
cheers.

Just get a good, solid marshall combo amp. Perhaps a 2x12 tube amp. You really can't go wrong with Marshalls.

I tried a Marshall in the shop that was a fair bit over my budget and for some reason that no one in the shop could work out, the clean channel was the quetist thing ever, it was about bedroom level when fully cranked. All the decent tube Marshalls were over my budget anyway (this was £850).

I did play a rather nice Fender Vibroverb (not sure exactley which one), which was going for £750 though. I'm going to try a different shop tomorrow but I'm planning on leaving town with an amp. My friend has suggested I try some more Fenders and Orange.

Wow, that's pretty weird....he DID get a deville! Dunno if it was blues or not, if you can get not-blues I suspect it was that.
