Act IV Myspace deleted-suggestions?

Hello to everyone that cares about Act IV (those who are not interested, no need to reply with profanity or insults ;)),

Apparently due to copyright issues, despite the fact that there are other Myspace users that have worse things than 'for the fans by the fans' covers, the Act IV music Myspace was removed without warning. So the question, do we begin again and do only originals or just a page with no music, or nothing on Myspace period? If we were to go forward, everyone would have to add themselves again, because we lost 6300+ people on our list.

I've talked to some people on other boards, and one person they had friends/acquaintances that run similar myspace pages but never have had a problem. As for the Friendster suggestion, if you are suggesting we try to put up a similar page with covers but on Friendster, I am not going to take that chance, a similar situation might happen again. I am still trying to get more of an idea from people whether they would support the originals page idea. Of course, we still have covers on the Act IV official site.

Well, over two weeks later we receive a message back from myspace's music support. They said they were welcome to put up a new page with 'original covers' (even though we said we be willing to be put up originals, rather than covers, evidently they don't seem to know the difference :/). They said that we couldn't have the name 'Smashing Pumpkins' in our display or real name on Myspace. They said we could still list in our profile that we were a 'tribute band to The Smashing Pumpkins' (even though we are group of organizers, not a band, they didn't seem to understand that either haha).

The bottom line is that we have our myspace back, but just to be safe, we are not going to put up covers, and people with have to add/re-add themselves for the most part, rather than trying to attract 1000s of people, most of which won't even take a 2nd look at the page after they approve you. I still need to talk to someone who can get us official approval from Billy Corgan that we can have covers up for free download.
