Not sure if I spelt the fucker's name correctly, but whatever, you know what I'm talking about.

I was reading his pamphlet on propaganda and I was struck by the dirty genius and common sense of it. I know that the methods he talks about have been in use from the dawn of modern politics, but the usage of his "positive generalisations" and "negative name-calling" words is so evident in just about every speech by a US politician I've seen. Amazing and outrageous, the man was Goebbel's little brother.

I can't believe Goebbel's propaganda was so fierce that even his wife took notice and justified the murder of their five children by stating she didn't want them to be brought up in a world without national socialism.

Wow, thank you for that link. I've noticed the language, but I thought it came from closed-door meetings. Turns out, it's right there in the open. Lovely. And the ignorance of this fact by the majority of people? Double lovely!

i took a legislative process course this summer, we looked a lot out how the republicans took over congress in '94, and yeah, newt gingrich basically is an evil genuis, but a genuis he is.

Plenty of people who know more than me have made much of Nazi homoeroticism, but I just happened the other day across a particularly queer bit from Goebbels's diary -

"Shakes my hand. Like an old friend. And those big blue eyes. Like stars. He is glad to see me. I am in heaven."

Oh, sure, it can be taken innocently, but it sticks somewhat all those blonde and blue-eyed and muscular hard-laboring Aryan men in a certain perspective, if one wants it to.
