I hate the oscars too, but Jon Stewart is hilarious. He hosts the Daily Show in America, which is like a fake news comedy show. There are lots of clips on it on here. (http://onegoodmove.org/1gm/)

Oh I believe I have seen a few episodes of that on More4. He is qeuite funny, for an American. He's no Jonathan Ross though :)

Jay Leno is the only decent yank talk show host. Letterman is possibly one of the least funny people I have ever seen.

Very true. He gave Bill O'Reilly his arse back on a plate the other day though. I was impressed.

I only know the name Bill O'Reilly from that Ludacris song "Who Let These Ho's In My Room". I dont really know much about american pop culture, which doesnt bother me.

I like Jon Stewart cos his mockery isn't partisan, he basically rips it to everyone. And of course he has a good self-depricating style. Excellent choice.

Oh, and Leno doesn't even hold a candle to Conan, c'mon people.

Letterman was the best, back when he was funny - that is, back when he was funny for his ironic non-funny, rather than the current sincere jokesterism. Like dropping air conditioners off rooftops and giving canned hams to the audience and filming an episode with a camera strapped to a monkey's back.

Jon Stewart is very bland, I think.

Consider yourself lucky. He's starting to dig himself quite a grave over here, as people are getting tired of him getting away with all his threats and unfounded rhetoric.

After the Letterman thing, he went on his program and announced that there is a culture war in America and thought the whole thing was groundbreaking television.

God yes. No one remembers his antics pre-CBS.

I also really liked Larry "Bud" Melman, I hope I never see him in visions on my deathbed, though.
