I think i bigged this up a little while ago.

Its great I particularly enjoy:

1) The realistic sword fights, they never last longer than a few seconds in real life
2) The funny little tunes the farmworker play with their tools, you know what I mean
3) The savageness of the "big fight" towards the end, where they play it in slow mo and Ichi cuts off the other guys fingers before merking him.

Yeah the emphasis is on quickness rather than fancy swordplay.
I just think the way Kitano carries himself as a blind man is very good.

I was talking about the 2003 Takeshi Kitano rendition. I'm aware of the other films though.

That movie is wicked, why don;t you like it? I usually don;t like Oriental renditions of Sadism, but Ichi The Killer smacks it.
