Im assuming there is some band wagon somewhere, but holyshit. This guy amazes me. I just finished Breakfast of Champions and its easily one of my favorite books, I'd reread it again, but I've started on Slaughterhouse five. And I'm loving every minute of that, if all his books are of this caliber, he'll quickly become my favorite author. Anybody got any suggestions as to what book I should read next or want to tell me to fuck off because he's overated?

I've read those a few years ago. He was interesting. You make like Tom Robbins. Have you read any by him?

vonnegut is certainly a favorite of mine... Slaughterhouse, Cat's Cradle, Breakfast of Champions and Welcome to the Monkey House are required reading... no, not really, but ya should anyway

Outrageously overrated in my opinion.

The best I can say for him is that he often serves as a semiadequate bridge for the adolescent to cross from genre tripe to books of actual, you know, merit.
But really, he's pretty bad.

Seems like every quasi-literate, retarded teenager likes him a whole lot.

Well I must say he was the first author to introduce me to the idea of nonlinear time (in book form I guess), but that's about all I've taken away from him.
