I was thinking earlier today about movies I saw long ago that scared the crap out of me, and I remembered one short film that I haven't seen, thought, or heard of for about 12 years. The only problem is is that I can't remember the name.
This is definately not a famous film, but it was very, very bizarre. It was probably only 30 minutes long. My brother rented it from our local library. From the way the filming looked I'd say it was from somewhere between the 70s and mid 80s, and was probably a European film. Anyway, it went something like this:
A woman goes to some creepy looking place in a European country. There is an old man in this place who owns a chimpanzee that he has trained to lead people to his home, and the chimp finds the woman. She is at first afraid of the chimp, but it follows her around, scaring the shit out of her, until she finally follows it to the man's house. What happens in the next few minutes I can't remember, as I was 5 years old and had a very short attention span, but afterwards it gets very strange. This old man takes great pleasure in torturing people, and has built a wooden coffin. It is not a normal coffin, though. He has rigged it with all sorts of sharp blades and saws on the inside. He takes the woman outside to a place where he has a deep whole dug in the ground, and the coffin is inside. He throws the woman inside the coffin, sticks on the lid, and turns on his creepy-ass torture device. There is screaming, buzzing, and darkness, and that's where the film ends. What made this film most scary to me was the fact that this old, innocent-seeming man would do this to a pretty young lady, especially because she seemed to think he was so sweet.
Now, I must -MUST- see this film again, and if anyone has any idea what it might be called, I'd be very greatful for some help. I am afraid that I might have seen one of the few copies of the movie that were produced, and now they might all be gone, but I am hopeful.
Thanks.
