Saddam's trial has been adjourned again. It seems that being his defence lawyer carries the death penalty. Do you think this trial will ever finish or if he'll simply get through all the defence lawyers in the world.

I really strongly feel that he should be shown the South Park movie at least once before he dies.

He just needs to meet with an "accident," on his way to the court house one day. Like someone "accidently" placing a bomb near him or "accidently" firing a pistol 8 times next to his head.

You know, a few less defense lawyers in the world isn't necessarily a bad thing.

That goes along with the whole "The ACLU is destroying civilization!" argument.

If they're gonna levy a death penalty here, I think it would be proper for the case to be heard in its entirety. Defense attorneys going along with popular opinion and not even trying is much more dangerous than the alternative.

The Americans are crazy thinking it's a good thing holding the trial in Iraq. Surely he should be put on trial in The Hague. At least he will have a chance of a fair trial and his defence lawyers are less likely to be blown up. And who had the clever idea of having a Kurdish judge. It's beyond belief.

The Hague is European, that would never happen. It probably is an unfair trial, hence them keeping it under wraps in iraq.

And it wouldnt surprise me if the CIA had secret prisons in Eastern Europe.

Condoleeeza told the EU to "back off". Does the Bush government never deny anything?

The War Crimes Tribunal is in the Hague. I suppose the US would love to preside over his trial though. And I bet they'd also love to train the executioners because let's face it, guilty will be the only verdict in this impartial trial.

Why not have him in The Hague is the question. The War Crimes Assosciation isn;t under the control of the US is it so makes you wonder.

I dont believe a word that comes from the White House. What I mean by that is, I take it all with a pinch of salt. They're always bullshitting.

If they don't deny anything then they are basically admitting. So yes there probably are terror planes using EU airspace and Eastern European terror cells. They'll move away from EU countries for cheaper rent.

They should send him to a really rough jail in the states like San Quentin or Rikers Island. But then I suppose someone would want to film the entire thing and make a reality show.

heh heh. Or send him to the Jungle, I'm A Dictator, Get Me Out Of Here!

They could have him and Slobodan Milosevic doing a bushtucker trial.

They should definitely make him watch the south park movie. Many times. And don't stop until he memorizes it word for word.

I love on the Ladder to Heaven episode where Bush is trying to convince the United Nations that Sadammn is in heavy making weapons of mass destruction.

I don't remember that one, but I think my favorite was the one with Puff Daddy and PETA. Kids, just vote for the douche or the poop sandwich.

I wish Saddam'd just knuckle under and shave and wear a tie and let the whole world know how handsome he is.

I bet he's treated better in prison than I ever will be.

Anyone one who watched Have I Got News For You on Friday will remember this

Ian Hislop: A tailor!!! Hasn't Saddam been arrested for mass murder?

Paul Merton: No reason why genocide can't be elegant.

On a serious note I don't think this trial will ever conclude. Although I must say Mr. Hussein's pin-stripe suit is rather handsome.

You have to love a good crimes agasinst humanity trial. They all seem to follow the same route. There's the ex-dictator in irrational complete denial, refusing to accept his situation, the henchmen who were "just following orders", the forgone conclusion of the guilty verdict. It's more show trial than some Hollywood celebrity trial.

I know. It's not like there's any chance he can OJ it or anything.
