The Matrix sequels would have to be up there.

"Some things change. Other things, however, don't."
Nice one Morpheus. Any other pearls of wisdom? How about "Some cars are red. Other cars, however, aren't." The Wachowski's need to be slapped for wasting a promising opportunity.

No once can deny "The Matrix" was heavy (as in good) when it came out. The story, as well as the special effects.

This is true. I should really watch it again, it's such a great movie and I haven't seen it in ages!

Fraser - I completely agree. I really like The Matrix, despite the fact that Keanu can't act to save his life.

Keanu will forever be Ted :D it's funny how he became such a huge star and you never really hear anything about the guy who played Bill nowadays.

Anaconda and Komodo were pretty bad :D I like silly movies where threatening-looking animals go apeshit and eat a bunch of people, but gawd.

Mac and Me (1988)

Downright awful. I loved it when I was a kid. I remember my first-ever crush, at 7, was the (unfortunate) kid playing the lead role.

This one guy, he posted this long-ass (but quite amusing) review on imdb. I don't know how many of you guys caught this movie as kids, but it's certainly one of the most agonizing experiences to sit down now and attempt to find what made it so appealing.

Wow, this brings back memories. Too bad nostalgia doesn't defend the realization of awfulness. What a stinker.
Author: MovieAddict2005 from themovieaddict.com

When I was a child I watched some very bad movies; some were so bad, they made Cool as Ice look like the original Rebel Without a Cause. I'm talking about grade-A quality garbage, here.

Mac and Me was a film I frequently watched – an embarrassing, agonizing, shameless marketing scheme fueled by McDonalds featuring a plot ripped off of E.T. And I ate it all up – I used to love this movie.

Watching it now is like a slap in the face. Wow, it's that bad. When I was younger I didn't notice the numerous references to Mickey D's and Coca-Cola – I just marveled at the sight of strange alien beings whistling to music that played only in my head. I considered Mac and Me to be the pinnacle of film-making. Or perhaps I'm discrediting myself – I wasn't that stupid, but I was naοve enough to believe, at least, that it was a fun movie, and unlike anything I had ever seen before.

Well, at least one opinion remains -- it is unlike anything I've ever seen before – a rip-off so bad beyond words that it's almost as unbelievably awful as another shameless E.T. knock-off, Pod People, my choice for the worst film of all-time – and another 'so-bad-it's-good' gem that is actually so bad it becomes good, then bad again, where it continues in this cycle until it becomes downright petrifying.

The film's protagonist is wheelchair-bound Michael (Jonathan Ward), an adolescent who moves to a new city and finds himself meeting up with a strange puppet – err, alien – named 'Mac' (I guess?), who waddles around like E.T. and is searching for his parents, who were picked up by a NASA space probe and are now out in California doing who-knows-what. Apparently they're not too eager to find their son since they spend the duration of the movie crawling at a snail's pace under the glare of the sun, stopping every now and again to emit sounds similar to that of a drunken elephant, making patterns in the air with their extended index fingers (now, where have I seen that in an alien-oriented movie before?).

I could write an entire book on the faults of Mac and Me. To fit them into a single article almost seems ridiculous. (Cont...)

HAHA OMF. i remember this. my brother and his friend used to be obsessed with E.T. and then Mac and Me, and they used to run around cupping their hands in that V form and whistling. they used to make fun of me and call me Mac. actually, they used to watch movies solely to make fun of people they knew by comparing them with the characters. their favorite for me was that girl who played football in Little Giants. they ALWAYS called me the icebox.

The funniest part of the whole movie, to me, was that a film company actually greenlit and funded it. I mean, there's virtually no plot at all. It's one of those movies that is so bad it's funny, but in a gross sort of way. I can completely understand why people hate it though, and I certainly don't like it that much. I've seen it once or twice and wouldn't be bothered if I didn't see it again.

It's "artsy". It has a brown filter and the camera moves as if the cameraman had the St. Vitus dance.

It is an example of how new film schools are ruining movies, interchangeing plot and vision for "experimental" camera effects and shock value scenes for intellectual posers.

I hate how in movies it seems like no one can hold a camera still anymore. Slightest bit of action--suddenly it's an earthquake and the camera shakes like crazy! It just annoys me and makes it hard to tell what's going on.
