Do you think he was as good of an actor as he gets claimed to be? Or, do you think it is simply because of his early death?

Good question.

I think he was a definitely good actor. And to be honest, he's not bigged up to god like proportions nowadays so I think the praise he does get is deserved.

You serious? Ever seen Stand By Me? All four of those kids were fucking spot on with the acting...River included. Volunteers was great, too. That's just my opinion, but I think he was fantastic, even though he was two things I really don't care for (a junkie and a hardcore animal-rights activist).

Yeah...I've seen Stand by Me, and it is agreed that he was fantastic, but that was the only film of his I have seen and I won't label someone great completely based off one performance.

Haha! Do you think that the guy who made Powder molested him?

And should I feel wrong in thinking it's Michael Stipe every time I see that guy in that movie? It's eerie.

Try, even though you shouldn't, watching My Own Private Idaho. Terrible film, but he's good in it.

damn, i really adore Private Idaho. i thought it was very well done especially considering the contstraints put on van sant AND the fact that keanu reeves is in it.

I liked him in that movie Dogfight.

On the people he's not, he's no Robert Sean Leonard.
