He's actually in it? We did a little cheer for Ian Brown in the last one but we'd do a big cheer for Jarvis.

I saw it last night. This was my favorite book, and the movie definitely did it justice.

SPOILERS! YOU'VE BEEN WARNED!
It was great :) Yes Jarvis was in it, along with Jonny and Phil from Radiohead but they showed them for like .02 seconds. Makes me really sad. Saw Jarvis' face but barely the other 2. They played some of the songs they did though like "Do the Hippogriff" for quite a while in the background of the other characters talking to each other at the dance. Good songs :)
Dumbledore was very forceful and kinda - un-Dumbledore??? I liked him better in the last movie.
And no SPEW and no House Elves. :( I love Dobby, even more so after dressing up as Dobby for my job at the bookstore when book 6 came out. But I can see how if they had to cut something out that would be it, I mean that's a lot of book to fit into one movie.
And why did in the pensieve memory they go to Barty Crouch Jr. going on trial rather than Bellatrix Lestrange? I know they had to put emphasis on Barty for the movie and introducing one new person might've been hard, but that kinda changes the plot to forget that Bellatrix was the one who tortured the Longbottoms. Bellatrix is an interesting character and I want Neville to get his day to kill her, so while I see how it streamlined the plot to do that it also changes the plot in a way I'm upset with.
All though did anyone think the whole Ron/Hermione thing seems really forced and that Emma (actress who plays Hermione) and Dan (actor who plays Harry) have a lot of on screen chemistry???? I am definitly a Ron/Hermione Harry/Ginny kinda person, just from the books, but I don't think the actors that play Ron and Hermione have a lot of chemistry and the actors that play Harry and Hermione seem to like each other.
Other than that it was really exciting and stuff. Very well done, very well acted, great casting, they did pick out eveyrthing that makes Harry so awesome. Lots of good Fred and George jokes, they were hilarious. Good chance for Neville to shine. It was exciting and they fit so much in without it feeling overly rushed. You got to give them credit. Even though the book is very cinematic it's so freaking long and they had a very hard job to maek it into a movie, and it turned out great.

YES! This (plus the part with the weird sisters-see next paragraph) are my two major qualms with the movie. I don't really care when they leave things out of movies because hey, it's a long movie as is. that said, I DO care when they change the feelings of things...especially characters. And this is not the Dumbledore I know and love. The biggest problem I had was when he manhandled Harry and asked him "HOW DID YOU PUT YOUR NAME IN THE GOBLET!?!? DID YOU MAKE ONE OF THE OLDER STUDENTS DO IT FOR YOU!?!?!" Dumbledore is supposed to be solace for Harry and a father figure. Just in that one statement that is blown out of the water. I mean, Dumbledore is supposed to believe him. I understand that he's concerned for Harry's wellbeing and that comes across, but it also seems like he's pissed as all hell and assumes that Harry put his name in. That's just not right
The other problem was the part with the weird sisters. I loved the fact that they were there, and that we saw them all having fun. However, this part is in SUCH stark contrast with the rest of the movie that it seems out of place. It almost seems like it was plucked out of a completely seperate movie and added into this one. I don't know. I mean, the waltz and stuff before it was fine...but when there was like a mosh pit and stuff...I cringed.
oh and ps-I LOVED the movie. So, these things are not to say I thought it was shit...just that these were problems. But oh well, i'm not too concerned.

Joanne Rowling must be laughing all the way to the bank. It's crazy that Harry Pooter has cracked das States.

I saw it Fri. night, I did like it but yeah I thought dumbledore was weird in this one, and too loud, in the books he always has this way of quietly disarming everyone with his wisdom, came off much better with the first guy who played him.
The dragon was awesome... I was a little dissapointed we didn't see any of the other dragons in action though. And none of the quidditch world cup game!
Very good job with the scene explaining the three unforgivable curses I thought.
Ron is going to be so cute!!! The long red hair is adorable and he's got some nice biceps on him now :O
Not much of Snape in this movie, although I thought the scene where he kept smacking Harry & Ron in the head for talking in class was funny, especially when they start again and he kind of rolls his eyes and pushes his sleeves back ;) I hope the next two movies get back to him being a darker character than the last 2, especially considering what happens in the end of the half-blood prince. The next 2 movies I'm really looking forward to now, Order of the Phoenix and The Half-Blood Prince are probably my favorite books of the series.

I agree. the kid who plays Harry does nothing for me (he did a great job acting in this movie, but I don't think I'd ever have a crush on him or whatever), but the kid who plays Ron is going to be quite the heartbreaker.

C;mon he's a ginger!
The kid who plays Harry pisses me off mang. He's a massive geek (he's been on TV here promoting the film).

AGREED! on both counts. Mad Eye was absolutely PERFECT in the movie all around. The way that he was surly but lovable...perfection! And Ron, ooh baby. In that first scene with him when he covers himself up, I was like oooooooooh!

I really liked it, but they cut out so much stuff I was looking forward to seeing.
No quidditch world cup? What?! They could have not had Harry hanging off a rooftop for 5 minutes and snuck in a Quidditch World Cup, damnit.

What is it with people fancying Ron? I thought Krum was quite easy on the eye in a thuggish sort of way though. I thought it was alright but the ending was a bit abrupt, and that girl who plays Hermione just can't act. I liked the tiny dragon and the many double entendres that only I laughed at, and we cheered at Jarvis Cocker and I did a little yelp for Frances de la Tour. I would have enjoyed it a lot more if there hadn't been about a hundred children making a ton of noise in the cinema, and I really needed to smoke so I ate popcorn until I felt sick. Oh, and I still think it's a shame that Ronnie Corbett isn't Flitwick, that would be so ace. And did anyone else think there was a weird cut where Snape was poking Dr Who (can't remember his character's name) in the face with his wand?
I also agree with Mary Alice about the Bellatrix/Neville thing and there just wasn't enough Snape.
ps I really want one of those blue satin outfits those French girls were sporting. Ooh la la.

I don't think Ron's good-looking. Harry's cute as in he still looks like he's waiting for puberty. Malfoy already peaked, which is sad.

In that first scene with him when he covers himself up, I was like oooooooooh! The one problem I have with Mad Eye, and it's a problem with the the actual book really, is that all along it's actually Barty Crouch, so why would he pick on Malfoy so much? By all means stick up for Harry to gain his trust, but the way he seems to take pleasure from picking on Malfoy always seemed a bit odd. I suppose he could be bitter that Malfoy's dad didn't get sent to Azkaban, but it's never explained very well (that I remember).

I think Malfoy's dad (?), the man with the long white hair is an erotic beast!

WOAH
the movie was pretty good.
But They Guy who plays Dumbledore has got it all wrong. I know he hasn't tried to read the books and it shows. He says he tried to play the role as himself. What an ass.
I still think POA gets a notch higher rating in my book.
The Graveyard scene was very cool.
Certain things could have been done a little better. Mostly it all comes down to the size of the book and how much you can fit into a movie.
I guess it's impossible to get it right.

It's disgusting how the youth is now being influenced through evil pagan literature such as harry potter. I despise how it's suddenly become acceptable for our innocent children to be exposed to such trash. No wonder there are so many serial killers, vegetarians and liberals around these days. How vile!
It's a good thing there are Christian and Conscientious artists such as Prussian Blue around to check the downward slide into a leftist nightmare of diversity and tolerance.
Next thing you know there will be children's books about homosexual beastiality!
