"James Iha and Michael Stipe have been working together again along with Joseph Arthur, tracking music for a Hurricane Katrina benefit album."
Stratosphere Sound
I hope James does more then just produce a song. It's probably too much to wish for but I would love an Iha/Stipe original duet.

Anyone heard any remixes that "James the DJ" have done? Or know where I could get them?

Djs do more than making remixes, you know.
I don't think anyone would ask James to make a remix.

I know for sure he have done a remix of a norwegian artist called Annie. They even played it on norwegian TV (only audio). To compare the songs...
I was just wondering where I might could download someof his remixes, or atleast find some info on. For all I know he could have done loads of remixes...
Serching on the net I only found this: Stellastar - SweetTroubledSoul (James Iha Remix) (http://www.rcarecords.com/artists/stellastarr/audio/SweetTroubledSoulIhaMix.mp3)

yeah he's done a few remixes. there's more if you care to look hard. wasn't there a pretty comprehensive list on jamesiha.org?
and I remember the stratosphere page mentioned james and michael stipe before. it might have been in connection with some kind of serge gainsbourg tribute, but.. heard nothing more of it. blabla

Iha is also thanked on Michael Stipe's complilation CD for the British Magazine Uncut. (they did a magazine with R.E.M. on the cover and all three of the remaining members of R.E.M. made a compliation C.D.)
I don't know why Iha was thanked...one of Stipe's feautured songs was "Je t'aime Scumbag" by the citizens band, you know that New York City collective with all sorts of famous people including Missy Auf der Maur and I think also Iha? Maybe that's why he thanked Iha, James probably owns some sort of right to the track or something. I would love to see a pic of Iha and Stipe. They should get along, nightlife loving men they are.

What amuses me is that all the other people in those pictures look about 18. And like they would be BFFs with my little brother! Damn, I am so uncool

Yeah, the guy in the middle...I don't know who that is.. but to be honest- James looks really terrible in the picture although I used to like his blonde hair (but slowly I'm beginning to wonder if we will ever see him with black hair again  ) Anyway He looks a bit fat and..it makes me depressive when I see all this james-partyguy-pics. I don't know why.

Eh, same here. He just doesn't get my motor runnin' at all anymore. He always looks sweaty/drunk/tired/weird. I guess I shall have to gaze longingly at pictures from 1996 and sigh dramatically for the rest of my life.
