Hello. If you could give me your brief opinion, it would be much appreciated. I’m writing a paper for my Philosophy class at UVM with the focus being Marilyn Monroe’s death…which is listed as a “suicide” but many believe to have been a cover-up. I’ve been doing a lot of research on the topic i.e. collecting books, articles (this month’s Playboy actually had a great in-depth look at the whole story, including transcripts written by her to her psychiatrist…as did the LA Times back in August) films, etc…but I also thought to ask specific people throughout the net about their thoughts on the case.
Hopefully this topic won’t lead to too much flaming etc. And please be nice to the newbie! Like I said, any info would be great.
Thanks and think snow!

there was also a letter to the editor in response to the Playboy articles on Marilyn, supposedly it was from someone in the police that had worked on the investigation, and he said what drug specifically she had overdosed on. I can't remember most of the details though, and I don't know how reliable that source is... I guess anyone could write to playboy pretending to have inside information. But it might have been legit. The basic gist of it was that it appeared she couldn't have been so dosed up on this particular drug without someone's help.
I think it might have been in the 'triple platinum' issue of playboy with the three blond chicks from that Hefner reality TV show on the cover... I can't remember for certain though :(

I think it was a cover up but that's just because I'm a dork and after looking into it I think there's some weird stuff going on there with a whole bunch of people in that circle.

Nembutal....the drug she OD on. It's too bad really, but she was a product of the studios. They pumped her full of drugs to get her "up" and ready for work, then they would give her "downers" to help her sleep. After years and years of this it left her addicted to several drugs. One night she just took too much. Was it a suicide? No. More like an accidental death. No coverup. There were several "strange" things after her death, but samething can be said for Evis, Kurt Cobain, Jim Morrison, ect.
source: Donald Spoto - Biography of Monroe
ps. Bus Stop (1956) is her best film!!!
Arthur Miller did it. She was about to go public with his shameful secret; she had written all his plays but for all those years let him take the credit. She had reached a point in her life/career where she craved artistic recongition for all those wonderful plays...but Arthur shut her big fat mouth forever....
Next on The E! True Hoolywood Story, Elizabeth Taylor's secret marriage to Michael Jackson.

Aria, will you marry me? (gets down on one knee) I love your sense of humor. The way you mock eveything, i know it's tasteless, but I like it.
