There was an earlier post on here discussing Harry Reid shutting down the senate. Why now? Where were the democrats back in the months leading up to the war? It seemed so obvious to anyone that bothered to read into the issue at that time that Bush was lying about his reasons for going to war. First, he said the object was "regime change". Then he realized that reason alone wasn't going to be enough, so he started this whole WMD thing. But the inspectors said Iraq didn't have any, so what did they do? They took the inspectors out of there. It was so obvious! So why did all these democrats vote for the war? Were they too busy sucking corporate dick at the time to do a little research? And by a little, I mean like 30 minutes' worth. Well, supposedly this (http://www.theleftcoaster.com/archives/005940.php) is the reason they are bringing up the issue so late in the game. Well, whatever. The fact that these democrats voted for the war says one of two things, neither of which are good. Either the democrats wanted the war from the beginning for some reason unknown to the public, or they were afraid that due to the political climate at the time, a no vote would hurt them. I don't buy this claim of ignorance, that they were misled. Yes, everyone was misled, but if a citizen with the internet can see through the bullshit and a senator can't, we're in deep trouble. So basically, democrats suck. They are the lesser of the two evils, and this whole thing is purely for political gain. It also shows that the two-party system has to go. And it shows one more thing: That despite all the corruption and bullshit, when the public speaks up, we can still make a difference.
