Is there any other great bands on Saddle Creek apart from Bright Eyes?

Yes. Added to those above, I would also say:
Broken Spindles
Cursive
The Good Life
Rilo Kiley used to be, but not any more (on saddle creek that is, not good)
And many more.

Azure Ray.
But, oh, they have split.

The lovely wonderful Orenda Fink then AKA the best songwriter on SC aside from Conor, is still there though. And she blows my mind.

Cursive is ok, fucking overrated, but they got some killer songs, good voice and the songs with Gretta Cohn playing cello are stunning, The Good Life is nice, but they're not as good as in the past IMHO. The Faint are fucking good live.
But as far as sheer songwriting goes, my favorites are Bright Eyes obviously and Azure Ray which indie kids usually don't like much, but I think they're great.

I've never been too much into Rilo Kiley. I don't get the enthusiasm. Jenny Lewis is...ok? I don't think she's a great singer or anything like that. And Son, Ambulance is my least favorite band on the label.

I didn't think Azure Ray split, I know they both made solo records, but I thought they were just taking a breather from each other.

They don't seem to want to come back again as Azure Ray at least. the feeling I had it's that they had split for good.

Azure Ray, amazing.

November and If you fall are my favourites.

Ok. Two reactions.

1) dribble....I would kill to see the faint live.

2) dribble....Jenny is hot.

She's pretty. I wouldn't go lesbian over her though.

Oh god I hate the Faint. I don't even know why, because on paper I should love them.

On paper I should hate them, but I actually like them.

On paper I should cream in their faces, but I actually cream in their faces.

I would. Were I not already going gay over Johnny Depp (see that other thread).

Get yourself the Saddle Creek 50 thing and you will know all the bands are fairly fabulous. It is tradition in my parent's house to listen to the SC christmas album whilst tucking into the festive dinner.
I should have read this first before i did the gay thing because I've seen Jenny Lewis close up and yes I fucking would.
Now It's Overhead are pretty brilliant (I am such a saddle creek obsessive I have a crush on Andy Lemaster) and I love Azure Ray, the Orenda Fink solo record is nice too (I have yet to aquire the Maria Taylor one). I love pretty much all the bands on Saddle Creek although I can't love Cursive, they're like my least favourite child or something. My favourite is of course Bright Eyes although I really fucking love the Faint to an obscene degree, there are a lot of people with Faint albums because of me forcing them on everyone I come across. I think I am going to attempt to start a thread about the Faint.

The new Broken Spindles album is very cool, he's a surprisingly good lyricist, very very bleak. You can hear the Faint in it (he's the bassist from the Faint if you don't know) but they're at totally different ends of the electronica spectrum. You really do have to listen to him.

He's a great bassist, but Broken Spindles to me sounds like new-agey electronica. Like soundtracks. I didn't listen the songs with lyrics though, only instumentals and I never liked instrumentals much.

My favourite two songs are This is an Introduction and Move Away, go for it.
