My dad just found an all original '67 SG Special in one for $1100.(half of the actual value)
It's in Lay-away for Christmas. :D
I also found a strat copy that has a neck just like a USA strat for $96.

Anybody else had good luck in them?

personally, no. however, i know a guy that found a 1960's gibson es-335 at a garage sale AND BOUGHT IT FOR 50 DOLLARS. The headstock is broken off the neck, but gibson can repair it. 50 bucks + however much it costs to fix = one hell of a deal.

I never find anything cool in pawnshops, just old dusty shit. And people look at me, thinking "dun fella sure ain't no reg'ler here." And it feels like I'm in Pulp Fiction, so I stay away from the basement and quickly leave.

My brother found a Late-50s or Early-60s Gibson semi-hollow body guitar at a Goodwill and bought it for $600. It's worth about $2000. It's a gorgeous guitar and sounds godly.

I've never found shit in pawn shops.

I don't know where my local pawn shops are! Britain seems to be less into pawn shops than you yanks. Except the kind that only deals in jewellery, we have lots of those.:no:

There's Big Deal, actually, I just remembered that's not local to you anymore you big fat moverer! It's not brilliant anyway, it has some decent stuff but it'd be about the same price as on eBay mostly.

why the thumbs down? Theres nothing wrong with Cash Converters and all that. Where else would burglars sell their shit?

P.S you can get guitars and amps in cash converters anyway, so hush!

That's not a pawn shop though is it? It's just a second hand music shop I thought, and therefore pricier, since they know what they're selling.

They also have hi-fi equipment and cameras and stuff, but they do have a lot of new guitars. I think they specialise in music stuff, but yeah, I'm fairly certain it's a pawn shop.
