why do some gasses go up and some go down. what separates the two! yknow?!

This is an important scientific question. I am pretty sure it has serious implications for biology.

Burps are gases escaping from food in the stomach, whereas farts are gases produced by bacteria as they digest food in the intestines

I only just found out those starving Africans you see with the big bellies have bellies like that because of the bacteria in their guts. Poor little bastards.
