ok, so I may just be horribly behind on things, but I was just wondering about the oppinions of this board when it comes to Bright Eyes. obviously a number of you guys like them since there is a board dedicated to them, but I know that most people that don't like bright eyes and connor do so with a passion.
so why do you who like him, like him so much?
and why do you who hate him, hate him so much?
personally I think very highly of his ability to write music and poetry (as far as lyrics go), but I can only take him for a few months of the year before I grow very weary of him and his very "emtional" voice.
also, I'd like it noted that I'm terribly bored, just got up from a mid afternoon nap, and am trying to avoid making phonecalls, so if you guys have already been over this before, I do appologize.

i used to like him a lot but i don't like him so much anymore. Some songs of his I still adore, though, so it's give or take.
I've not been listening to him as much recently, really since his last two albums came out. Wide Awake was ok, but nothing more, which was a big let down, I'd only rate it above Collection really. Digital Ash I love on the whole, a couple of duff tracks and lyrics but it's a lot more captivating than Wide Awake, and a lot of his other stuff. Every Day and Every Night is my absolute favourite release though, very dark and no songs about lost love and stuff. Not that I have a problem with him writing songs about lost love, he does so very eloquently, but it's only one theme and it bugs me how many songs are written around it.

digital is tops.
my first album of theirs was lifted, but that got old within a month. I still love certain songs from it, but I cna't listen to the whole thing all the way through.
I'm not such a fan of I'm Wide Awake, It's Morning. probably because my co-worker played it every stinkin' day when he came into work and still plays it every chance he gets. (I want to strangle that emo punk. )
I love Fevers and Mirrors. right now I've listend to it almost every day this week, so I predict I'll get tired of it by next week.
I haven't heard every day and every night yet.

strangely it's only in my english dictionary as someone who is deformed due to a thyroid problem. I don't understand, but I'll let you off.

cre·tin Pronunciation (krtn)
n.
1. A person afflicted with cretinism.
2. Slang An idiot.
[French crétin, from French dialectal, deformed and mentally retarded person found in certain Alpine valleys, from Vulgar Latin *christinus, Christian, human being, poor fellow, from Latin Chrstinus, Christian; see Christian.]

so it's officially an english word since its pronunced differently from the french, besides its spelled different (without the `)

lifted > collection > digital > morning > letting > fever
of course, i haven't listened to letting off the happiness and fever/mirrors enough.
do you actually like collection, or just like it more than the others? it has a few good songs on it, but i think it's by far his worst release.
