Big up ya chest rude boy bambaklaat massif. Salassie has blessed us wit dis wonderful drum and bass music to get stoned to. Anyone else partake in it? I like Reggae because theres so many different moods of it. Like you can have up-beat Ska shit, songs for the laydeez....and late night blaze up tunes.

To get any of you newbies started: download "Naturalites - Picture On The Wall". It's chilled man.

I think I might like it more than Hip-Hop. I feel Reggae is less black-only kinda. I dunno, it's just a perception of mine, you never get reggae albums or songs with "nigga this" and "nigga that" on it.

I cant stand any Rap/Hip Hop except for The Streets and some Missy Elliot tunes.. ( I love Tricky, but thats more trip hop i think)

i play in a cover band and some fuckin guys came in the other night and kept getting us to play all sorts of reggae...it got really annoying after a while actually. we played a bunch of bob marley and threw in some sublime tunes to for good measure. then told them to put their rock hats on and played hummer and killing in the name.

I'm not really a fan of ska, I hate Madness but the Specials and early UB ain't bad if not damn good at times, as well as a bit of Laurel Aitken if you want some of the really old stuff. What I am digging though is dub. I've probably got more Lee 'Scratch' Perry albums on mp3 than any other artist in my collection (34 last time I counted). Mad Profressor, Dub Syndicate and African Headcharge are other favourites of mine.

As for other more standard reggae, the run-of-the-mill stuff like Marley and Jimmy Cliff's about all I've got. It's all good though, well mostly.

Yeah Dub's heavy. You can really hear it's influence in badboy Ragga Jungle and some Garage.
