I dunno, maybe it's something that has to grow on me. My friend used to be really into him and play an album by him all of the time. I remember being bored out of my mind.

Modest Mouse are alright in small doses.

Neutral Milk Hotel are totally boring, though.

Bump for the birdman.. Andrew Bird is very kickass.. I have only listened much to the new one, mysterious production of eggs, but its the most talented stuff I think I have heard in a long while. Lyrically, the content is pretty light-hearted but intelligent and clever, sometimes funny, and production/arrangement wise it reminds me of radiohead a bit, his voice kinda reminds me of beck but definitely more acrobatic, and the guy plays like 20 instruments. I know this is gonna piss some people off, but i think he beats the hell out of Sufjan Stevens in terms of multi-instrumentalist songwriters that have recently become a lot more popular..
