i'm in the mood for some vérité, so if you please reccomend to me some good documentary films? and don't say the 3 obvious ones (those 3 being F for Fake, Bowling for Columbine, and Hoop Dreams).

Touching the Void
Aileen: Life and Death of a Serial Killer
Are my own personal recommendations.
Other well-regarded cuts that I quite desperately want to see:
Grizzly Man (Werner Herzog's latest - that's all you need to know. Sounds like he's fucking knocked this one out of the park)
Herzog collection: Gesualdo: Death in Five Voices, My Best Fiend, Lessons in Darkness
Spellbound
Errol Morris trilogy: Gates of Heaven, The Thin Blue Line, Fog of War
Overnight
Hearts of Darkness: A Filmmaker's Apocalypse

I want to see Grizzly Man so badly.
Also American Movie is like one of my favourite films ever.
Also, I reccomend Lost In La Mancha and March of the Penguins.
And The Corporation is alright, but it really bummed me out.
And Document Of The Dead.
And Wisconsin Death Trip.
Although that might not be a documentary, I don't know.
I'm hungry.

The Boy Whos Skin Fell Off.
It was good, but it wasn't a documentary film, it was just a BBC thing.

it was a filmed document of actual events, hence, it was a documentary.

Nope, it was a work of fiction.
An exploitative one at that.

Outfoxed: Rupert Murdoch's War on Journalism
This documentary is quite impressive. If you are interested in finding out just how the media can be so biased politically, this is definitely one film to check out.

it was a filmed document of actual events, hence, it was a documentary. It wasn't a documentary film though, which is what was asked for. The difference being it was never released at the cinema or on video or whatever, so it was pointless recomending it since no one would be able to watch it.
