Let's talk about something, songs, albums, gigs, conor's beard, how it's almost impossible to find a good bright eyes community on livejournal....dunno.

AHH!Has Conor really got a beard?
Also does anyone know the name of the song (B.E) that these
lyrics come from?.......
'Well your ex-girlfriend said I was a terrible mess,
she's got a really good head on her shoulders,
when the singer spoke and confessed he didn't really smoke cigarettes
she said her teenage brother smouldered,
on a hot bed of coal in a sterile white room,
underneath that Joy division poster......

it's a Simon Joyner cover. It's called Joy Division.
I like it, even though to this day I still don't get what that song is about. :-o

It has been a little quiet.
We could always go chat to the young teens at inastorytold?
Or not.

Man, when Tim Kasher grows a beard, he goes all out. Time before last me and Frank saw The Good Life he looked like he'd just spent the last year hiking around Tibet or something whilst engaging in no other activity than religiously not shaving.

yes indeed
the inastorytold kids were bad enough, but jesus
i just seen the lovely pics of that crazy (and i don't mean it in a good way)girl who constantly photoshops pics and thinks a joke is talking in some kind of half-assed ghetto slang jumbled with teenage speak.
i don't know, maybe she's someone's real friend here so sorry...but she's super annoying. and now that i've seen her pics I think she's also not so good looking. Which is something I don't care about much, but if you're not a good person at least you should...well...look good. In the pics she totally has the look of someone who thinks "yay! i had 3 photos of conor drunk leaning over me! how fun, i can slander his name even more!". But of course she loves BE. She only does that because it's the music that matters. if it's the music that matters, why oh why are you CONSTANTLY talking about how the fuck he looks or acts? I'm not above making fun of anyone, including Conor, but not all the frigging time. And I show some respect for the him sometimes. She treats him like a jukebox you can kick over but you soo like to hear it play. That's beyond disrespectful. :wtf:
errr...sorry.
hope she's not hiding here.

Is this today? I've looked on this board quite often and there's never anyone here! Except the nice banananananana (I'm sorry, I never can seem to stop myself with that word! It feels so nice!) moderator lady. I'm sorry your forum is poorly. I heart Bright Eyes but I think I'm too old to post here really...I don't know, they seem to be a teenage thing these days, like those plastic yokes, scoobys? what the fuck are they FOR? at least knitting nancy was practical. But now I'm fascinated by this nasty girl of which you speak! where can I find her and marvel at her awfulness?

yeah, that girl.
it's not the fact I find the jokes not funny, we don't have the same sense of humor, it's that i never see her talking seriously about bright eyes or anything else, and that she's loved by most people because of her "charisma". That is being pushy and annoying.

don't worry, bright eyes aren't and never will be a teenage thing no matter how many silly teenagers (and smart ones as well) might like him. I'm 26 and I don't really know any teenager personally who is into BE. I suppose that here is different, so just pretend to be in continental Europe and enjoy.

I followed that link and was kind of baffled that people are actually like that. ???????(melts into pool of confusion. Or ball, if you're going to be purist about it, but things don't generally melt into balls unless they're made of mozarella.)

cos the UK (not sure about Ireland) is not so different from the US as far as silly teenaged BE fans go. I know from direct experience.
good for you being 27 and incotinent :-D

i'm 25 and still a fan and i know a guy who is older than everyone here and a big fan.
true, there are a lot of teens listening...but even conor is 25 (and close to your age). so, i don't think be is just a teen thing.
oh, and i just checked your profile and your bday is one day before mine. how cool :) yay for aquarians!

Currently I so far from rule it's not true. grraaaggh. Any advice on making new friends after you break up with someone? I mean ones you can go out for drinks with. Well-meaning advice from colleagues has so far been salsa (NO! NO! NO!) and the student night at a hideous club (she thought I was 21). Yikes.

yeah, that can be rough.
i moved to a new city and didn't know anyone and its taken a few years to establish a friend base :-o so hang in there. i've met people at shows (and yes, i've gone alone and it wasn't as bad as i'd imagined), classes (fun stuff of course that you're interested in), friends of friends...i don't know. it is hard for sure and you really have to keep putting yourself out there.
good luck-and i'm sure that you still rule :-D although i'm sorry about your breakup. hang in there, okay?
oh yeah, i met some people volunteering once too, as random as that is.
